Any material covered in class but not contained in the text will still be tested.
AP Physics 1 and AP Physics 2, as dictated by the College Board, are two separate courses. Our
course covers the entire AP Physics 1 curriculum, and to further enrich your understanding of
physics, it also covers a large portion of the AP Physics 2 curriculum.
As previously stated in the Summer Assignment, there is never enough time during class to cover
all of the topics for which you are responsible. You must put time into this course outside of
class aside from standard homework. Expect homework every night. If you do not study every
night, expect difficulty during the course exams and the AP Exam.
Due to time constraints and in keeping with the course topics as defined by The College Board,
not all sections within some chapters will be covered or tested. You will be informed about the
sections for which you are responsible.
Review for the AP Physics 1 Exam will take place at the same time as the Magnetism topic is
taught. The first final exam will only cover AP Physics 1 topics. The Atomic and Nuclear
Physics topic will not have a separate test; instead, that material will be assessed in the second
final exam. After the completion of the second Final Assessment, we will spend the rest of the
year investigating advanced topics in physics and applied math and engaging in activities and
projects.
