WHO WE ARE
We are an education company building a new kind of university targeted at the African region. Miva,
a subsidiary of the uLesson Group, is a Pan-African Distance e-Learning University that is built on a
couple of beliefs:
Firstly, we believe that the traditional brick-and-mortar approach to tertiary education is no longer
a viable option for serving learners on the African continent. This approach will not provide the
capacity and efficacy for the people of the region. We are building a university experience that
leverages excellent academic talent (wherever it is to be found) and digital technologies to create
a new, fresh, more efficacious and more accessible tertiary experience.
Our second belief is that this new tertiary experience must not only meet but exceed the existing
way of doing things in terms of quality, efficacy and preparing learners for the future.

ROLE: Full Stack Developer – R&D Team
OVERALL FUNCTION
We’re seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our R&D team and help build intelligent, end-to-end
web applications that leverage the power of AI. If you're excited by innovation and love bringing
smart features to life in sleek, high-performing products, we want to hear from you.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
● Build end-to-end web applications that integrate AI capabilities
● Collaborate with designers and AI engineers to bring intelligent features to life in
user-facing products
● Ensure responsiveness, performance, and robustness of web applications
● Develop APIs and handle data integration from various AI/ML services.
CORE TECHNICAL SKILLS:
● Frontend: Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks like React,
Angular, or [Link]
● Backend: Experience with Python and web frameworks such as Flask or FastAPI
● Databases: Solid understanding of both SQL (e.g. PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (e.g. MongoDB)
systems
● Proficient in PHP with hands-on experience using [Link] and integrating external Services
API.
● API Integration: Ability to design, consume, and optimize APIs (RESTful or GraphQL) for AI
model interaction
● Cloud Services: Familiarity with AWS or similar cloud platforms for web app deployment
● Version Control & Security: Proficiency with Git and best practices in authentication and
authorization
NICE TO HAVE:
● AI/ML Integration: Experience integrating machine learning models into frontend or
backend layers of applications.
● Data Visualization: Ability to represent AI outputs through clean and effective dashboards
or visual components.
● Automation Insight: Understanding of which business processes can be automated using
AI vs. human intervention.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
● Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field

● Experience: At least 2 years in full-stack development, with demonstrated experience
incorporating AI functionality
● Portfolio: Showcase of projects combining modern web development with AI/ML
integrations
