9. Keywords Engineering Analysis , Advanced Mathematics
10. Course overview:
Throughout the course of history, engineering and mathematics have developed in
parallel. All branches of engineering depend on mathematics for their description and
there has been a steady flow of ideas and problems from engineering that has stimulated
and sometimes initiated branches of mathematics. Thus it is vital that engineering
students receive a through grounding in mathematics, with the treatment related to their
interest and problems.

11. Course objective:

The main idea behind this subject is the development of the student’s ability to use
mathematics with understanding to solve engineering problems. They have able to solve
first, second and higher order differential equations with common methods in this field.
12. Student's obligation
Course Policies:
1. No Cell Phone is allowed during lecture and exam. Must be OFF (not silence or
vibrating mode)
2. Be on time to class. Tardy is strongly discouraged
3. Exams and Quizzes are closed book and closed note
4. Homework will be assigned but not collected. If you have any question about the
homework you can discuss it with me at the class or office hours. Before you ask for
assistance with your assigned homework, make sure that you have attempted the
problem already
5. The Questions of the common exams are based on the examples, homework
problems and the exercises of the textbook and references given in this course.
6. Scientific calculator not allowed in any exam .
.
13. Forms of teaching:
Usually white board will be used for explain the lectures. The lectures include details and
explanation of theories, equations, and method of solution for deferent types of
mathematics problems. Also the lectures include a number of examples of solved
problems for each subject. In classroom and during the presentation there will be focus on
sharing the students in the course of explanation by raising a direct question to single
student or a group of students

14. Assessment scheme

First periodical examination carried out at the end of January, the second periodical
examination carried out on April and the final examination-first trial carried out at the
beginning of July, while the second trial carried out on September. The students are
required to exercise the classroom activities, quizzes at the end each subject, and home

works. The distribution of marks will be as follows:

‌ Marks per Term:

First periodic Exam 17%

Second periodic Exam 17%

Quizzes& Classroom Activities 6%

Final Exam 60%

Total 100%

15. Student learning outcome:

18. Practical Topics (If there is any)

In this section The lecturer shall write titles of all practical topics Lecturer's name
he/she is going to give during the term. This also includes a brief ex: (3-4 hrs)
description of the objectives of each topic, date and time of the
lecture ex: 14/10/2015

19. Examinations:
1. Compositional: In this type of exam the questions usually starts with Explain how,
What are the reasons for…?, Why…?, How….?
With their typical answers
Examples should be provided
For example: - For the following ODE, test for exactness. If exact, solve. If not, use an
integrating factor by using theorems, and find the general solution.
(siny cosy + x cos2y) dx + x dy=0

2. True or false type of exams:

In this type of exam a short sentence about a specific subject will be provided, and then
students will comment on the trueness or falseness of this particular sentence. Examples
should be provided

3. Multiple choices:
In this type of exam there will be a number of phrases next or below a statement, students
will match the correct phrase. Examples should be provided.
20. Extra notes:
Here the lecturer shall write any note or comment that is not covered in this template and
he/she wishes to enrich the course book with his/her valuable remarks.
