Saving a Calculation's Data
See also Loading a Data File
FLOCALC™ allows you to save the input data of an active calculation to a datafile. This file can then be
re-loaded at a later date and the inputs / calculated results viewed.
To save a calculation :
1. Make sure that the calculation whose results you want to save is open.
2. Load a datafile into the Datafile Browser.
If you have not created one, use the Datafile Browser to create a datafile. This datafile will store the
input data of the calculation you want to save.
3. If the calculation is not the currently active screen, display it by selecting it from the Window
menu.
4. Click on the icon on the toolbar. This saves the calculation's input data into the datafile which
is currently loaded. Note that the Data Reference field on the calculation screen is updated with
the name of the currently loaded datafile.
If you have not loaded a datafile, FLOCALC™ will warn you that no datafile is loaded, and asks
whether you want to load one :
Click on Yes to load a datafile. FLOCALC™ will then display the Load Datafile screen. Select a
datafile and click on Load to load the datafile into the Datafile Browser. You will then be returned
to the active calculation, where you should click on the again to save the input data into the
datafile which you have just loaded.
5. You can check the calculation input data has been saved to the datafile by selecting the Datafile
Browser from the Window menu. The saved calculation data is displayed under the Datafile
Contents section of the Datafile Browser :
Note that the fields which are initially displayed are Date, Time, Prepared By, Site, Description and Tag
Number. If you want to view the other input data fields, use the scroll bar at the bottom of the Datafile
Browser to move through the fields.
