Provisioning Services Console.

1. Logon to Provisioning Server


2. Click on Provisioning Services Console.
3. Go to vDisk Pool

4. right-click a Standard Mode v-Disk, and click Versions


5. In the vDisk Versions window, click New.

6. Notice that the Access is set to Maintenance. Click Done.

7. If you look at the physical location where the vDisks are stored, you’ll see
a new .avhdx file.

8. Change the Type to Maintenance. You’ll use this Target Device to


update the vDisk. Make sure this Target Device you are using for vDisk
Updating is not in any Delivery Group so that users don’t accidentally
connect to it when it is powered on.

9. Of course this Target Device will need to be configured to use the vDisk
you are updating.

10. Power on the Updater Target Device.


11. Provisioning Servers, then you’ll see a boot menu.
12. Select 1 ( Maintenance )
13. Login to your Updater Target Device.

14. The Virtual Disk Status icon by the clock should indicate that the vDisk
Mode is now Read/Write.
a. Make any desired changes.
b. The PvS Image Optimization tool disables Windows Update.
c. To install Windows Updates, use the following HPSA tool to install
Windows Update, install updates, then uninstall the HPSA Tool
d. Before powering off the target device, run your sealing tasks. Run
antivirus sealing tasks.
e. Citrix Blog Post Sealing Steps after updating a vDisk contains a list of
commands to seal an image for Provisioning Services.
f. Power off the target device so the vDisk is no longer being used.

15. Go back to the Versions window for the vDisk.

16. Highlight the version you just updated, and click Promote.
Note: Go directly to Production if you’re confident that your updates won’t
cause any problems.
If you select Immediate, it won’t take effect until the Target Devices are
rebooted.
For scheduled promotion, the Target Devices must be rebooted after the
scheduled date and time.

17. Copying the Vdisk Files to other regions. copy the .avhdx/.pvp and .Xml
files to the PVS server region wise to path D:\. Do not copy the .lok file.
18. Past the Files to the correct path d:\

19. Once the copying is done on all the regions (US/India and China)

Logon to the PVS Server.

a. Logon to Provisioning Server


b. Click on Provisioning Services Console.
c. Go to vDisk Pool
d. Right click VPCGOLD
e. Click on Add vDisk Version
f. Can will see a popup window.

g. Click on Search you see a VPC-Gold.


h. Click on Add it.
i. Go to vDisk Pool
j. Right click VPCGOLD
k. Click on version you will see the new version added to it.
