WRITING TASK 1
Dear Sam,
I am doing well and so excited to hear that you will be in Hanoi for 2 weeks. Because you are
curious about Hanoi, I am going to tell you about this.
I have been living in Hanoi since I was born so I am so proud of telling you how beautiful Hanoi
is. Hanoi is a really exciting capital city with millions friendly and hospitable people. The
weather is typical for a humid tropical climate with four distinct seasons: spring, summer,
autumn, and winter. As a result, Hanoi has a hot summer with a lot of rain along with the dry
cold winter. However, the weather turns to winter now with some drizzles in the evening.
Therefore, I recommend you to bring more coats and warn clothes to keep warm. Besides, Hanoi
has so many historical buildings and landscapes such as Temple Literature and National
University, Hoan Kiem Lake and Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. Moreover, Hanoi also has a
dynamic lifestyle. You can go shopping in Dong Xuan Market, Hanoi Weekend Night Market, or
have a drink at Hanoi social club.
Well, these are all my recommendations for now. I am waiting for you to visit Hanoi.
See you,
Phuong
Writing Task 2
In the modern life, the human’s living quality has been obviously improved along with the
development of technology, economy, and industry. Some people, especially young generations
more likely to prefer living in a nuclear family. In this essay, I am going to shed light on
advantages and disadvantages of this issue.
To begin with, there are a lot of outstanding advantages of living in a small family which
included only two generations. Firstly, living in a nuclear family helps promote a sense of unity
and togetherness. For example, Vietnamese people has a bunch of events and holidays all year
round. Therefore, it will be more conveninent and easier to gather all family members who who
living in a small family to hang out or have special activities in these rememberable hoilday.
Secondly, living in a nuclear family reduces the burden of financial and logistical
responsibilities. It is because people have more time and more budget to wholeheartly take care
of their parents and children instead of all relatives.
In the other hand, this issue is also mentioned many remarkable disadvantages. Firstly, the fact
that if people live in a small family, they will have less support and resources. For instance,
sometimes people need some helps for their massive problems or difficulties in life. And it will
be harder to have more oppotunities for reference and ask the family for help. Sencondly, living
in a small family prompts children’s insecurity problems. In Vietnam, grandparents have a main
role for looking after children instead of parents. Most of parents persue their careers hence
children may feel neglected, isolated and anxious.
In conclusion, I do believe that living in a nuclear family could bring certain benefits, but its
negative consequences should not be overlooked.
