EXPRESS Screen TM
Product No. H48695
DESCRIPTION/APPLICATION:
The EXPRESS Screen is a premium downhole sand exclusion de-
vice that can be expanded outward to the well bore or casing. It
combines the proven sand control ability of the EXCLUDERTM
screen with the additional benefits of screen expansion such as an-
nular flow reduction, hole stability, and large inside diameters. As
with EXCLUDER screen its unique filter membrane construction al-
lows for the production of mud solids without plugging the screen
while still maintaining effective sand exclusion. The EXPRESS
Screen’s design based on perforated pipe expansion technology
adds tremendous mechanical strength and reliability to the screen.
Unique to the EXPRESS screen design is the secondary filtration
layer above the Vector WeaveTM and below the protective shroud,
which greatly enhances the Vector Weave’s resistance to plugging.
Laboratory tests have shown this enhancement to yield more than
twice the particle holding capacity than that of Vector Weave alone
for typical formation sands. This translates to better production
characteristics and greater well longevity.
FEATURES/BENEFITS:
• Functions as a premium sand exclusion device whether or not
it is expanded
• New secondary filtering system improves the particle holding
capacity of the screen
• The solids controlling layer of the filter membrane is the same
as the proven EXCLUDER screen
• Installation is easy using conventional equipment
• Rugged construction insures the product is not compromised
during installation
• Mechanical performance is similar to that of regular pipe based
screen
• Provides sand exclusion with an ID larger than possible with a
standard screen
• Greatly reduces screen annular flow which contributes to sand
migration and the development of "hot spots" in screen
