F2: Renames the selected item (file, folder, etc.).

F3: Opens the search function in many programs (e.g., File

Opens the address bar in File Explorer.

Alt + F4: Closes the active window or program.

F5: Refreshes the active window or web page.

F6: Moves the cursor to the address bar in web browsers.

F7: Activates caret browsing in some web browsers.

F8: Boots the system in Safe Mode (during startup).

F9: Refreshes documents in some applications (e.g., MS Word).

F10: Activates the menu bar in the active application.

MS- Excel is a package meant for three important applications


viz., Calculations, Graph drawing and
Data base management. The excel file is treated as a work book
in which we have many work sheets. An

excel work sheet has cells arranged in rows and columns

There are 16,384 columns named as : A , B, C.. Z, AA, AB, AC…


XFD and 1048576 rows in a work

sheet. A cell is identified by its cell address. The cell address has
the Column name followed by its row

number. Example: A1, A2, B1, B2.

Q.1. What do you understand by the term editing a


worksheet?
Ans:- Editing a worksheet refers to making changes to the content
and formatting of a worksheet in a spreadsheet program. This
includes tasks such as entering, modifying, or deleting data,
adjusting formatting, or reorganizing information within cells,
rows, and columns.

Q.2. Differentiate between the two types of editing cell


contents: completely and partially.
Ans:- CompletelyEditing: Involves removing the existing
content in a cell and replacing it entirely with new data.
Partially Editing: Involves making changes to a part of the
existing content in a cell without deleting or replacing it entirely
(e.g., correcting a typo or adding text).

Q.3. What are the different ways of copying and moving cell
contents?

Ans:-Copying:
a. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+C (or Command+C on Mac) to
copy and Ctrl+V to paste.
b. Right-click the cell, select "Copy," and then "Paste" at the
destination.
c. Use the "Copy" and "Paste" options from the toolbar or ribbon.

Moving:
a. Use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+X to cut and Ctrl+V to paste.
b. Drag and drop the content by selecting the cell(s) and dragging
them to the new location.
c. Use the "Cut" and "Paste" options from the toolbar or ribbon.

Q.4. Describe the method of inserting non-adjacent


rows/columns.
Ans:-To insert non-adjacent rows or columns:
a. Hold down the Ctrl key (or Command on Mac) and select the
rows or columns where you want to insert new ones.
b. Right-click on one of the selected rows/columns and choose
"Insert."
c. The new rows or columns will be inserted above or to the left of
the selected ones.

Q.5. Write three different ways to change row height and


column width.
Ans:- a. Drag and Drop: Place the cursor on the boundary of the
row/column header and drag it to adjust the size.
b. Format Option: Go to the "Format" menu in the toolbar, select
"Row Height" or "Column Width," and enter the desired value.
c. AutoFit: Double-click the boundary of the row/column header to
automatically adjust the size to fit the content.
