As Shown in Table 5.
presents the technical strategies in teleradiology by radiologic
technologists. This part of the questionnaire consists of eight (8) statements about technical
strategies in teleradiology. Statement 2 ("I advocate for upgrading telecommunication
infrastructure to address bandwidth issues.") received a mean average of 3.2, with an
interpretation of "Agree," indicating a high rating. This demonstrates that most respondents
recognize and acknowledge the importance of quick troubleshooting and promptly reporting
technical issues. This is encouraging, as enhanced technical strategies can result in higher-quality
healthcare services.
Meanwhile, Statement 3 (I attend training programs to improve my skills in managing
technical issues.) received a mean average of 2.93, with an interpretation of "Agree," but had the
lowest rating. This might indicate that, while some individuals do attend training programs, it
may be inconsistent or not as frequent as needed to address the complexity of the technical issues
they encounter. The remaining questions had mean scores ranging from 3.04 to 3.24, indicating a
generally acceptable level of technical efficiency, with minor areas requiring improvement. The
total mean score of 3.13, categorized as "Agree," shows that respondents are generally satisfied
with the existing technical strategies, although improvements can still be made.
According to Nigatu (2024), training programs that focus on the effective use of
teleradiology technologies are essential for enhancing user confidence and improving overall
system effectiveness. In Nigatu's context, effective training in teleradiology not only boosts user
confidence but also improves the overall system's efficiency. This directly aligns with the need
for continuous skill development, which was highlighted earlier in the analysis of Statement 3.
The analysis indicated that more specialized training programs could enhance employees' ability
to handle complex technical issues.
As shown in Table 6. It presents the communication strategies in teleradiology by
radiologic technologists. This part of the questionnaire was composed of ten (10) statements
about communication strategies of teleradiology. Within this category, Statement 5 (I prioritize
urgent cases and use concise communication during high-pressure situations) with a 3.48 mean
average from the responses and an interpretation of "Agree" is a high rating. This indicates a
high level of competency and understanding among the radiologic technologists regarding the
significance of efficient communication in the teleradiology setting, particularly when managing
critical or urgent cases. Meanwhile, Statement 3 (I work with colleagues to establish and follow
standardized reporting guidelines) and Statement 9 (I recommend using modern tools, such as
instant messaging platforms, for real-time collaboration) were also rated highly, reinforcing the
importance of effective communication. Meanwhile, Statement 6 (I practice stress management
techniques and seek support when needed) with a mean score of 3.11 had the lowest score,
indicating that improvements may be needed in this area to ensure smooth communication flow.
Overall, communication strategies had a mean score of 3.25, also classified as "A" (Agree).
According to Robbins et al. (2020), implementing wellness programs and promoting
work-life balance can help alleviate some of these pressures, allowing radiologists to engage
more fully with their colleagues and patients. Wase et al. (2023) and Schoeman (2023) highlight
the need for effective communication in the healthcare environment. They propose that routine
meetings or even making use of digital platforms can heavily facilitate interprofessional
collaboration among healthcare providers, including radiologic technologists. The suggestion is
particularly appropriate to the results of the survey, notably Statement 9, wherein the use of
contemporary tools such as instant messaging platforms for real-time collaboration is suggested
by the respondents. By incorporating these strategies, radiologic technologists can further
enhance their collaborative efforts, which in turn can improve the overall quality of care
provided in teleradiology settings.
As shown in Table 7. It presents the Workflow strategies of teleradiology by radiologic
technologists. Statement 4(I focus on one task at a time, when possible, to maintain the accuracy
of image acquisition and processing.) got a 3.46 mean average from the responses with
interpretation of "Strongly Agree". indicating strong approval of this aspect of workflow
management. Several other question Statement 1(I attend training sessions to enhance my
knowledge and proficiency with digital systems.) Statement 2 (I use task prioritization strategies
to manage workloads effectively.) And Statement 3(I suggest adjustments to staffing models to
improve task allocation.)
got all 3.33 mean average from the responses with an interpretation of "Strongly Agree".
Meanwhile, Statement 10 (I schedule tasks around system updates to minimize disruptions.) got
a 3.02 mean average from the responses with an interpretation of "Agree". indicating potential
areas for workflow optimization and efficiency improvements. Workflow strategies received the
highest overall mean score of 3.26 categorized as “SA”(Strongly Agree).
According to Shu et al. (2020), training programs should incorporate hands-on sessions
and simulations to enhance practical understanding. This aligns well with the high overall mean
score, as it reflects the respondents' strong confidence in their workflow management. The
emphasis on training in Shu et al.'s work suggests that by improving hands-on and practical
training opportunities, radiologic technologists can further enhance their proficiency in
managing workflows. Such training would likely contribute to the continued high ratings for
workflow strategies, supporting further improvements in both individual task management and
overall operational efficiency in teleradiology settings. enhancing these training programs could
continue to support and improve workflow management strategies, leading to even better
performance in teleradiology operations.
