Recount Text
Recount text is a text that telling the reader about one story, action or activity. Its goal is to
entertaining or informing the reader.
(sebuah teks yang menceritakan sebuah cerita, aksi ataupun aktifitas. Tujuan recount text adalah
untuk menghibur atau memberi informasi kepada pembaca)
Recount is a text which retells event or experiences in the past. (sebuah teks yang menceritakan
kembali kejadian atau pengalaman di masa lampau)
Contohnya, kejadian ketika kamu bertemu dengan Jennie Blackpink, ketika kamu liburan ke Raja
Ampat bersama keluarga, dan lain sebagainya.

Orientation
Bagian ini adalah pengenalan yang menginformasi pembaca tentang tokoh, tempat, dan kapan
terjadinya di masa lampau.
Events
Bagian ini berisikan serangkaian peristiwa atau kegiatan yang terjadi. Biasanya diceritakan secara
berurutan, misalnya. At first, … Then, ….
Reorientation
Bagian ini merupakan akhir dari cerita dan sifatnya opsional, sebab bisa berupa rangkuman dari
semua yang telah diceritakan, komentar atau kesan pribadi, atau mungkin berupa himbauan atau
misalnya karena recount text tersebut menceritakan tentang pengalaman tidak menyenangkan
seperti kecopetan.
Language Features Recount Text
Past tense
Karena kita menceritakan kejadian di masa lampau, kita menggunakan tata bahasa past tense di
dalam recount text.
Time connective
Time connective adalah kata-kata yang berfungsi sebagai penghubung waktu untuk mengurutkan
kejadian misalnya after, before, at first, then, after that, dll.
Adverbs
Adverbs adalah kata keterangan untuk menunjukkan waktu, tempat, atau cara
misalnya yesterday, three months ago, last year, at home, slowly, carefully, dan lain-lain.

Being Late
Last week, Dinar, my roommate woke up late and she had to go to school.
When she wanted to take her motorcycle, in fact she couldn’t move it because there were some
motorcycles that blocked up her motorcycle. She tried to move all of the motorcycles, so that her
motorcycle could move from the garage. But she couldn’t do it.
Then, she called Adel who had that motorcycle which blocked it up. After that, her friend who had
that motorcycle helped her. Finally, she could move her motorcycle and rode it to go to school.
Holiday in Seoul South Korea
I spent my last summer holiday in Seoul, South Korea. I went there with my friends
On the first day, I was landed at Incheon Airport around 7 AM after a 6 hours long flight. Then I went
to Seoul by train and checked in to the hotel I already booked. I decided to take a rest for a while. At
night, I went to Hongdae, a famous district in South Korea. I went to eat traditional Korean food. On
the next day, I went to the Gyeongbokgung Palace and National Museum. I also went to learn how to
make Kimchi and see the scenery of Seoul from Seoul Tower. I went back to the hotel at 10 PM and
immediately went to sleep.
I spent my last day in Myeongdong and bought some stuffs and souvenirs for my family and friends. I
also ate the street food there. I went to the airport at 3 PM because my flight was at 5 PM. I had a
fantastic experience in South Korea and made wonderful memory with my friends. It was a great trip.
Tired
Last Wednesday was a tiring day. I spent my time to do a lot of activities, that I had no time
to take a rest.
First, in the morning, I went cycling. After that I went to school to study until 3 pm. After
school I went to sport hall to play badminton until 8 pm. I played too seriously that I felt
really tired. After that, I went home. But when I wanted to sleep, I remembered there was
some homeworks I had to do. I did my homeworks until 11 pm. And finally I could take a rest
in my bed.
Those activities made me exhausted.
