ONE LINE DESCRIPTION OF IDEA/CONCEPT

A simple, voice-assisted smart tablet designed to enable seniors to use technology
comfortably and independently, enhancing their comfort and experiences with respect.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THE IDEA/CONCEPT WORKS

We have designed our tablet to make technology available for senior citizens in a more simple and
safe way. We achieve the goal by removing certain unnecessary features, combine multiple
applications and innovate new methods to enhance experience by adapting to the needs of the
older users.
The tablet is equipped with integrated software that supports Augmented Reality (AR). This
enables users to scan household appliances, such as a microwave, and receive interactive, step-by-
step instructions. The guidance is delivered through animated hand visuals and voice instructions
in the user’s local language, making it highly intuitive and accessible for elderly users.
The Senior mode makes the apps look simple- with large buttons, fewer options, and voice
descriptions. There’s always an Undo button, so users don’t have to lose confidence after making a
mistake. .
Seniors can use the Voice-to-action option to command certain tasks like, call daughter etc,
reducing navigation though the apps with the help of Voice Assistants. Also, whenever a new thing
springs up, there is pre-designed Tutorial help to guide the users.
To enhance security and trust, the connected members can assist remotely as well, but only with
the senior’s permissions. Security features ensures that only the trusted contacts, those which
approved by the caretakers, can access the banking , connect or guide them - else it diverts to
caretaker.
A Daily Dashboard gives a friendly overview with the date, weather, reminders in large texts as
shown in the sketches. This is to give a simplified view of larger tasks and needs of the users.
Overall, the tablets are designed combining simplified UI, voice support, real-time help and trusted
connections- all to make the seniors feel more confident, independent, and safe while using digital
devices.

IDEA/CONCEPT NAME (revised)

SeniorEase – Technology Made Simple, For Every
Generation.

ONE-LINE DESCRIPTION OF IDEA/CONCEPT (revised)

SeniorEase is a tablet with voice guidance, AR scanning, and a simplified interface for
seniors with easy navigations.

DESCRIPTION OF HOW THE IDEA/CONCEPT WORKS (revised)

We have designed our tablet to make technology available for senior citizens in a more simple and
safe way. We achieve the goal by removing certain unnecessary features, combine multiple
applications and innovate new methods to enhance experience by adapting to the needs of the
older users.
The tablet uses a Scan Help button right on the home screen- which seniors can use to utilise the
integrated software that supports Augmented Reality (AR). This enables users to scan household
appliances, such as a microwave, and receive interactive, step-by-step instructions. The guidance is
delivered through animated hand visuals and voice instructions in the user’s local language,
making it highly intuitive and accessible for elderly users.

The Senior mode makes the apps look simple- with large buttons, fewer options, and voice
descriptions. There’s always an Undo button, so users don’t have to lose confidence after making a
mistake. To enhance safety and support, we’ve added a “Need Help” prompt and an Emergency
button right on the dashboard. With just one tap, the seniors can convey the emergency.

Seniors can use the Voice-to-action option to command certain tasks like, call daughter etc,
reducing navigation though the apps with the help of Voice Assistants. Also, whenever a new thing
springs up, there is pre-designed Tutorial help to guide the users. Memory helpers and custom
voice reminders that users can personalize — even choosing calming alert sounds like bells or
devotional tones.

To enhance security and trust, the connected members can assist remotely as well, but only with
the senior’s permissions. Security features ensures that only the trusted contacts, those which
approved by the caretakers, can access the banking , connect or guide them - else it diverts to

Specific features supporting these aspects include customizable alert tones for reminders, allowing users to select sounds like bells or devotional tones for a comfortable experience . The voice support system offers instructions and reminders in the user's local language, adapting to cultural and linguistic preferences . This flexibility helps users feel more comfortable and respected, maintaining engagement and usability.

The security and privacy protocols of SeniorEase align with its goal to enhance the independence and confidence of elderly users by providing a secure yet unobtrusive technology experience. The system uses consent-based access, allowing seniors to independently authorize assistance, preserving their autonomy . The assurance that only predefined trusted contacts can perform sensitive tasks like accessing banking details enhances user confidence, as they can operate their devices with reduced fear of fraud or unauthorized interference . This balance between protection and empowerment is pivotal in fostering independence and usability for senior users.
