ISSB Online Application Instructions
If a candidate provides false or incomplete information in the ISSB application form, their application will be rejected and they may face legal action as considered necessary by GHQ. Additionally, if the false information is discovered while undergoing training, the candidate will be liable to be withdrawn from the training academy and must refund the government all expenses incurred on them .
For students, the Character Certificate must be signed by a Principal or Headmaster, certifying the student’s moral character. For employed civilians, a different certification is required from the head of department, which must state the person’s employment status and willingness to release them if necessary for ISSB related duties. These differentiated requirements recognize the varying responsibilities and social standings of candidates, ensuring appropriate and relevant character assessments are made .
ISSB applicants who are currently employed must obtain a certificate from their head of department, confirming their employment and stating that they will be released immediately if called up by GHQ. This ensures that employment obligations do not interfere with the candidate's commitment to potential military service .
The ISSB application process requires candidates to declare their marital status and agree not to marry before completing their training at the PMA. If a candidate marries during training, they will be withdrawn from the institution and must refund expenses incurred by the state on them. This declaration is not applicable to service personnel and technical graduates .
Requiring a candidate to paste a photograph onto their Character Certificate serves the purpose of verifying the identity of the candidate. It ensures that the documents are indeed describing and certifying the individual presenting them. This is a standard procedure to prevent fraud or impersonation in the application process .
The ISSB ensures the moral standing of a candidate through a Character Certificate, completed by a Class-I Gazetted Officer or a reputable member of civil society, certifying the candidate's good moral character and family reputation. This certification must affirm the candidate's absence of connections to unlawful activities .
The office stamp is used in the ISSB certification process to authenticate the character and identity verification documents provided by officials such as Gazetted Officers, school principals, or department heads. This stamp serves as a formal endorsement of the information and certification provided .
A candidate's family background significantly affects their eligibility for the ISSB application. The Character Certificate requires affirmation that the candidate hails from a family of good reputation that is not known for supporting or participating in unlawful activities. This serves to ensure candidates have a stable and respectable personal background, which is critical for roles that demand high ethical and moral standards .
The declaration concerning injury during ISSB tests is crucial as it ensures candidates acknowledge and accept personal responsibility for any injuries sustained during testing. This absolves the Pakistan Government and its representatives of liability, effectively shifting the risk and legal responsibilities to the candidates themselves, emphasizing the inherent risks involved in military selection processes .
The ISSB application process includes a condition prohibiting candidates from attending coaching academies to ensure the fairness and integrity of the selection process. If a candidate falsely claims not to have attended such academies, they risk rejection upon discovery as the presence of external coaching could suggest an unfair advantage in preparation for the selection assessments .
