IB MYP Science Professional Development Agenda for Mazen

Goal: To become a confident, certified, and inquiry-driven IB MYP Science educator. Time

Week 1: Deepen Your Understanding of MYP Science Criteria

Objective: Improve your mastery and application of MYP objectives and assessment criteria.

Tasks:

 Read and annotate the MYP Sciences Subject Guide (available on MyIB).

 Choose one of your current summative assessments and revise it to better align with
criteria A and C.

 Day 1-2: Read MYP Criteria A–D and take notes

 Day 4-5: Revise a summative task (with better command terms, real-world context)
 Day 6: Watch video and take notes

Week 2: Boost Your Inquiry-Based Teaching

Objective: Embed inquiry in your teaching through questions, labs, and discussions.

o 1 Global Context (e.g., Scientific and Technical Innovation)
