Individual Reflective Report on social creation project:
Our project aims to create a zero-stress environment by addressing peer pressure, academic
stress, financial stress and family pressure. Now from this project I learn many elements such as
time management, communication skill, tolerance and creativity. Although it's a very large group
consisting of 13 members and every member have his or her own unique creativity. Initially in
the classroom meeting was multiple ideas came from different members which made me learn
that there are many social actions which needs to be addressed. Among the ideas, Zero-Stress
Drive was selected and we all started to work on. In the following days, we started preparing the
video for our project. I was the one who knew how to shoot, tough at basic level. Along with my
groupmates, I created the script for the introductory video. While making the script, I reflected
on what sort of content, actions and word selection should be used here to create an impact. This
activity boosted creativity inside me. When we start shooting the video, we were using the same
script but during it new ideas were continuously emerging and the script was continuously
changing however, these new ideas made the video more phenomenal that hold up to always
think outside the box. Shooting the video with such dedication also made me a bit worried on
how will I edit this. For that, I used an application on my phone, which I knew somehow at the
surface level. By this project, I explored deep in it and learned many new elements improving
my ICT skills. In addition to that, it was a bit challenging to maintain all the people on ground
while shooting, as they were speaking and not listening properly. Some takes had issues, also
some members were forgetting the lines. This experience built my tolerance and patience. Along
with that I also learn how to address or speak in a group, as it was my first experience to work
with many girls as they never agree on any point so group speaking or group discussion was
learned by me. Along with that, I was assigned to write the advocacy part of this project with one
of my colleagues fiyaz. Through this, I learned how to advocate a project into different multiple
setups both online and offline, through poster marketing and various marketing strategies. This
process helped me develop marketing and awareness building capabilities.
In addition to the learning aspect, I also faced a few challenges when working in this project.
Starting with the group strength that it was a big group in which conveying a message was a bit
of a challenge, along with that majority of the group mates were female, so if they all used to
speak or give an idea, it becomes very noisy or unacceptable. Additionally, our first video
showed stress in an extreme way, so this concept was not accepted by the Dr and we had to
change the script again. The change in the script become a bit of a challenge as the Ramadan was
also going on and due to again gathering of the groupmates. So, we had to change the script
causing our work to be delayed, though everything turned out well. Lastly to manage a group of
13 was a hectic job, as someone was always absent or arrived late. These were some of the
challenges which were faced in the group project. However, these challenges where the learnings
too and it turn out to be a great project initiative assigned by our teacher, equipped with full of
meaning experiences and a passion for the social cause.
