SUMMARY OF FINDINGS, CONCLUSIONS, AND RECOMMENDATION

This chapter contains a summary, findings, conclusions, and recommendations based

on the collected data.

SUMMARY OF FINDINGS

After the analysis and interpretation of the data gathered, the researchers produced the
following findings:

1. The study was participated by 150 students from the College of Business Administration,
particularly by Financial Management program with 88 students, and Human Resource
Management with 62 students.

a. Most of the respondents are female students, accounting for 62.7%, while the male
respondents accounts for 37.3%. Therefore, the respondent’s ratio is 1:2.

b. The dominated age of respondents participated was between 20-22, which accounts
for 72% of the sampled population. This is then followed by the respondents between the age of
17-19 (18.7%), 23-25 (8.7%), and 29 above with (.7%).

c. In terms of their major, the Financial Management program tallied a 58.7%, making it
the most dominated program of participating respondents, while 41.3% accounts for the Human
Resource Management.

d. Meanwhile, the year level of students with most participants are came from the 2 nd
and 3 year both having 37.3% and 25.3 for 1st year level.

e. The most dominated Artificial intelligence being used by the respondents was the
ChatGPT garnering a frequency score of 86 which is equivalent to 30.4%. Followed by Quill Bot
with 58 (20.5%), Brainly with 43 (15.2%), Grammarly 37 (13.1%), Canva AI 30 (10.6%), and
Quizlet with 29 (10.2%). Overall, the respondents AI tool used was tallied 283, making the
ChatGPT as the most widely used among the choices.

f. The respondents with the General Weighted Average of 1.51-2.0 tallied as the highest
GWA of the respondents participated in the study. It was followed by 2.0-2.51 with (44.7%),
2.51-3.0 (9.3%), and 1-1.50 (.7%).

2. After the assessment on the student’s extent utilization of Artificial intelligence along with the
Assignments, Review of Lessons, and Report Presentations at the College of Business
Administration, the researchers determined the following:

a. With a grand mean score of 4.12, respondents are proven having a great extent of utilizing
Artificial intelligence while making Assignments.

b. In terms of Reviewing Lessons, it has proven that respondents had a great extent of utilizing
Artificial Intelligence because it tallies 4.11 grand mean score.

c. Meanwhile, during Report Presentations, students are also proven having a great extent of
utilizing Artificial Intelligence, because it tallies a total grand mean score of 4.01.
3. In regards to the students’ difficulties while studying, that was answered by utilizing Artificial
Intelligence, the respondents are “Agree” that when they utilize Artificial Intelligence while
studying it aid some of their problems.

4. Meanwhile, in terms on the effects of having offline exercises without utilizing Artificial
Intelligence, the researchers determined the following:

a. While having Surprise Exams, the grand mean score was 3.53, meaning to say, students are
moderately concerned having this exercise without the presence of Artificial Intelligence.

b. In Graded Recitations, respondents are also moderately concerned having this exercise
without the presence Artificial Intelligence.

c. Writing and Critical Thinking Exercises, accounts a grand mean score of 3.78. It indicates that
having this, students are moderately concerned on the effects of not having AI during offline
exercises.

d. Having Normal Classroom Discussion without the use of Artificial Intelligence, are also
proven that students are moderately concerned about it. It was supported by the total grand
mean score averaging 4.03.

5. The significant relationship between the utilization of Artificial Intelligence and the effects of AI
on offline exercises, the researchers determined that there was a significant relationship
between utilizing AI in doing Assignments, Review of Lessons, and Report Presentations, with
the effects of not having AI during offline exercises.
CONCLUSIONS

Based on the above findings, the researchers drew the following conclusions:

Female students are more likely engaged in utilizing Artificial Intelligence. In relation to

Age, the prominent age range of respondents who utilize Artificial Intelligence was between

ages 20–22. As regards to Major, the highest number of responses came from the Financial

Management. As to Year Level, it reveals that both 3 rd and 2nd year level are most engaged

students in utilizing Artificial Intelligence. Meanwhile, the most highly used Artificial intelligence

by the students is the ChatGPT. Lastly, in terms of General Weighted Average the range of

1.51- 2.0 GWA declared as greatest number of a student’s average who had Artificial

Intelligence for academic studies.

2. In terms of the level of agreement on the extent utilization of Artificial intelligence along with

Assignments, Review of Lessons, and Report presentation, it found out that respondents had a

great extent of utilizing different AI tools.

3. Most of the respondents are Agree that this tool aided their difficulties, as it provides

assistance in their everyday struggle as a student.

4. It revealed that all respondents are moderately concerned in having offline exercises without

Artificial Intelligence.

5. In regards to the significant relationship between utilization of Artificial Intelligence and the

effects of AI on offline exercises of Business Administration at Rizal College of Taal, Inc. It

shows that utilizing AI while studying has a significant relationship.

RECOMMENDATIONS

After careful evaluation of the findings and conclusion, the researchers offer the
following recommendations to guide and enhance students’ academic performance despite the
use of emerging Artificial Intelligence.

1. In terms on the profile of respondents. It is evident that most of them are in Generation Z. So,
the researchers believe that they are proficient in online set-up of program. A webinar program
is proposed, entitled “I am an AI ready” it aims to discuss about Artificial Intelligence, its uses
and different features. An expert guest speaker is also invited, to discuss and share his
expertise to inspire and promote proper use of AI in education. And by that, the students will be
informed on the information and ideas that the speaker will provide. Additionally, as the speaker
talks, students are also encouraged to share their experiences in using AI, and in that way, they
can assess themselves on how ready they are to use Artificial Intelligence. And how this AI
affects their academic performance every day.

2. Given the fact that students have the great extent of using Artificial Intelligence, an Info
graphics will be posted in the Facebook page of FESO (Future Entrepreneur Students
Organization) to remind students how to study with Artificial Intelligence responsibly, without
risking their academic integrity.

Study Tips for Future Entrepreneurs of CBA Department

o Study Tip 1- To have a separate note pad for every subject. This pad will serve as your
material to write down every important information in your lessons every day. It will help
students in creating home works or for an upcoming recitations and exam. In this way,
students will not need the help of using AI to answer their academic task.
o Study Tip 2- Always listen to your subject teacher during class discussion, avoid using
smartphones or chatting with seatmate, because a student who is eager to listen, are
eager to learn.
o Study Tip 3- Have a time for at least 2 hours of reading books and notes, before going to
sleep. This will prepare you to have an advance learning for the lessons to be discussed
tomorrow.
o Study Tip 4- Limit the use of smartphones, interacting with social media and other online
platforms. By that, you can be able to perform those tips from tip 1-4 accordingly.
Because it will motivate you to make efforts in creating your assigned tasks or prepare
for an upcoming activity, with all your critical thinking without being dependent to any AI
tools.
o Study Tip 5- Learn how to appreciate your answers, by being contented and proud with
your outputs, will lead you to academic success. Because when you are not contented,
the temptation of using AI to answer your assigned tasks is getting higher.

3. Since most of the respondents are Agree that using Artificial Intelligence aided their academic
problems. Here is the proposed recommendation to guide students in using AI tools effectively.

Ways to utilize Artificial Intelligence Effectively.

A. Identify your main purpose- As user of any Artificial Intelligence applications, you must have
a reason why you utilize this tool. It can be for searching information, translating unfamiliar
words, or as a virtual tutor that guides you to improve writing and oral communication.
B. Choose AI tools that align with your needs- Artificial Intelligence has variety of applications.
As a user, it is your responsibility to choose the right AI applications that will help you to assist in
accomplishing your academic needs properly.

C. Know your limits- After having a suitable AI application for your academic needs. It is a must
that you have self-control, learn how to summarize and paraphrase, not to copy and paste.

D. Have trust and confidence- Building trust and confidence for yourself will allow you to
appreciate your own capabilities, and by that it will lessen your reliance to Artificial Intelligence
platform in answering most of your academic problems.

E. Evaluate your performance- After following all the instructions and limitations, it is important
that you assess yourself, how’s my academic performance with and without the use of Artificial
Intelligence.

4. In regards to the effects of AI to the respondents while having offline exercises. Here are
some of engaging activities to prepare students on the following offline exercises.

A. Mock Surprise Quizzes- this will prepare students for surprise examinations, assess their
learnings and performance, and also to encourage them study harder to earn good grades.

The professor will conduct a short quiz after the end of discussion, it can be in any form,
just like true or false, identification or multiple choice, anything will do. And after the papers were
all checked, it will be given to the students back, as a sort of their reviewer, and once the right
time to conduct a surprise quiz, students will not be pressured, as they are used to do mock
exam every day.

B. Minutes Papers- this activity aims to prepare students in the upcoming graded recitations.
As it will encourage them to listen carefully and write down notes every time there was a
discussion.

After the class discussion, students are required to put all of their learnings in a sheet of
paper, and once they are through, the professor will collect it and select random paper of five
students. Once your name was called, you need to recite those words put in the paper. In this
way, students will enhance their short-term memory to discuss what they have learn in that
particular lesson.

C. Daily Writing Challenge- this activity will encourage every student to practice their writings
and critical thinking skills, as they will create different written outputs every day.

As part of their lesson plan for the day, before the new lesson will start, students are
required to write their learnings based on yesterday’s topic. They will be given 20 minutes to
think and write, in any form of written output either an essay, free speech, or poem, as long as
they are using their own creativity it is acceptable. After this, professor can able to assess, who
among from his students are able to write, and can compete for an academic writing contest.

D. Brain Teasers- this is type of fun activity played during class discussions, students will be
able to improve their problem-solving and critical thinking skills, because they will face a
challenging task with a twist. As a result, they will be energized and motivated to listen carefully
to discussion and participate through answering questions.

The class will be divided into two, there will be team a and team b. A set of games such
riddles, guessing picture or words will be played by students in 12 minutes. The questions are
also related to the lesson to be discuss, and the team that will get 5 points, will be the winner
and exempted for recitations. This kind of activity will serve as an energizer, to motivate
students participate and learn in the upcoming discussions, because the researchers believe, if
students are motivated, they are eager to learn something new.

5. In relation to the findings of having significant relationship with the effects of having AI in
doing assignments, review of lessons, and report presentation and the effects of it through
offline exercises. Here is the proposed policy to establish a balance use of Artificial Intelligence
at Rizal College of Taal, Inc. particularly in College of Business Administration.

Unleash your potential with safe digital learning in the world full of AI

Purpose: To promote responsible, ethical, and safe use of AI generated applications among the
students.

Scope: To all students of Business Administration at Rizal College of Taal, Inc. who often utilize
AI while doing academic tasks.

Guidelines:

1. Educate yourself about AI, its uses, limitations, and purposes.

2. Know your limits as a student, avoid copy and pasting, learn how to summarize and read.

3. Stay focused and be alert. No smartphones are allowed during class hours.

4. Plagiarism and unauthorized use of AI is strictly monitored and prohibited. If student being
caught, a punishment will be served.

5. Students are highly encouraged to use our school library and its facilities for making research
and other educational activities.

Enforcement: Incorporating your outputs with AI generated tools is acceptable, however there
will be three warnings for every student, once they failed to comply with this policy, a letter
notice of disciplinary action will be given by the adviser or Dean of department for the guardian
of the students.

Effectivity: Once the school administration approves this policy, it will take effect immediately.

6. A seminar program be organized with the topic: A Good Invention or Threat: Assessing
the role of AI in Academic Studies.

Objective: To discuss the role of Artificial intelligence in academic studies, by focusing on its
potential benefits and associated risks. To educate students, faculty members, and researchers
on how to utilize AI responsibly while maintaining academic integrity and honesty.

Target Audience:

The College of Business and Accountancy, particularly the Financial Management and
Human Resource Management students.

The faculty members, and the respected people behind the corporation of Rizal College
of Taal, Inc.

Key Components:
1. Introduction about the Artificial Intelligence in education- by having short overview of the
common AI tools used in academic research and writing. How it works, its amazing features and
newest updates. All of these are covered.

2. Sharing its amazing benefits- to discuss some of its amazing features that is proven by many
studies to have good impact on students learning experiences, productivity and efficiency.

3. Discussed its associated risks and ethical concerns- despite having its potentials, this tool
also contains negative implications, especially when it is not use properly. Some of the possible
concerns will be the issue on plagiarism, academic dishonesty, and over reliance.

4. Promoting responsible and balanced use of Artificial intelligence- at this juncture, there will be
discussion about different tips and ways how to study with AI tools, to avoid being ignorant on
its possible risks when there is misuse, that is why an info graphics will be given containing how
to study effectively even though there is the presence of Artificial Intelligence.

5. Quick question and answer portion- through this quick q and a there will be a chance for the
students to talk and give some insights about his/her experiences, so that through their words it
can encourage every student out there to have good AI etiquettes while learning. Also, the
researchers are open for some additions and opinions to improve the said proposed platforms.

Duration and Mode of Delivery:

Proposed length of the program was 2-3 hours. It will be conducted at the Rizal College
of Taal, Inc. Multi- Purpose Hall in Buliran.

Expected Outcomes:

1. Create strong awareness about the benefits and risks brought by Artificial intelligence in the
field of education.

2. Motivate and adopt the ethical practices for responsible use of different AI tools while
studying.

3. Establishment of an AI declaration form for responsible and ethical use of Artificial

intelligence among students of Business Administration.

As the world becomes more advance and challenging, the influence of Artificial
intelligence continues to rise in different fields. Students who have been updated and always
using technologies are prone using AI for their academic tasks. In regards to this, the
researchers would like to propose having an AI declaration form, that was inspired to the work
of Mr. Aljin Andrei D. Martinez, LPT. Professor of Isabela State University. This form aims to
establish clear boundaries reminding students to have responsible use of Artificial intelligence,
as a tool to support their learning, not an assistant to create and manage the whole outcome of
your outputs.

The form contains questions asking whether a student used AI in creating their work,
what kind of AI was used, and the student’s purpose of utilizing it. These questions will help to
assess and monitor how students are really responsible in using AI while doing the task. With
that being said, the establishment of this AI declaration form will create a strong awareness on
the importance proper use of modern technology. It will contribute not only for the benefits of
students, but also for the professors, as they can easily recognize who among their students are
performing and learning well, and to monitor those students that needs more attention, because
they are lacking of cognitive and critical thinking skills. By implementing this, the researchers
uphold for the betterment of every student, and adhere academic integrity, honesty, and
sincerity, for creating any academic task amidst the challenges of formidable Artificial
intelligence

 We conducted this study because we want to know how these AI affects students’

findings that we had, students are being reliant to AI, and when there’s no presence of
AI their performance are affected.

 The AI Declaration form is a form aiming to set a clear boundary among students to
have AI responsibly and ethically. The researchers believe that there’s nothing wrong in
using AI, the real problem is how was the attitude of the user when utilizing it. Because
there’s so many instances that students used to copy and paste those answers given by
the AI tools especially in ChatGPT, as a result, students are not learning because they
don’t read and analyze. That is why the researchers wants to have this form to prevent
students from being over reliant to AI, through this student will be forced to utilize any AI
tools responsibly in a way that they will learn something new, to be inspired not to
copyright.
