Committee Information
Following several world disasters, including the Battle of New York, the attack of Sokovia,
and the bombing in Lagos, world leaders recognized the previous damage and what unrestricted
action could entail. While the Avengers are revered to be saviors, their actions have consequences
and they must collaborate with international governments to prevent further destruction. The United
States and the United Nations have called for the formation of an oversight committee to monitor
further missions, and have decided that the Avengers were too dangerous to continue to operate
privately.
The possibility of governmental patrol splits the Avengers into two blocks: the first is
headed by Tony Stark, best known as Iron Man, who believes an oversight committee will prevent
unnecessary lives from being lost. The other block is led by Captain Steve Rogers, best known as
Captain America, who believes the panel will strip the superheroes of their freedom and will subject
the Avengers to third-party infiltration.
Many years later Thanos, the most powerful man in the universe, will unite them against
him and start the Infinity War.
INTRODUCTION TO THE TOPICS
Topic Agenda Item A: The Endgame
The Big Bang sent six elemental crystals, hurtling across the universe. These infinity stones
each control an essential aspect of existence. Each of the stones possesses unique capabilities that
have been enhanced and altered by various alien civilizations for millennia.
Infinity Stones,
There are six Infinity Stones, each with a unique power:
Space Stone (Tesseract) The Space Stone's primary ability is to manipulate space
itself. It allows its users to teleport or move objects and people instantaneously across vast
distances. This manipulation of space can be used for both defensive and offensive purposes.
Reality Stone (Aether) The Reality Stone has the power to manipulate and alter the
fabric of reality itself. It allows its users to reshape the physical world, making the impossible
possible. This manipulation can create illusions, change the laws of physics, and even transform
matter.
Power Stone (Orb) The Power Stone is renowned for its raw and destructive energy.
It has the potential to unleash highly destructive blasts of energy that can disintegrate objects
and individuals.
Mind Stone (Loki's Scepter) The Mind Stone grants its user the ability to control
and influence the thoughts, emotions, and actions of others. It can be used to manipulate
individuals or even entire crowds.
Time Stone (Eye of Agamotto) The Time Stone's primary ability is to manipulate
time. It allows its user to control the flow of time, including reversing events, seeing into the
future, and creating time loops.
Soul Stone (Vormir) The Soul Stone has the extraordinary ability to collect and
control souls. It allows its user to perceive and manipulate the essence of a person's soul, which
is often depicted as a ghostly image or a spiritual representation.
1.1 Thanos’ Goal;
Thanos comes from a planet called Titan, which is no longer habitable. Thanos believes that
this unbalanced population growth in the universe will lead to its destruction, so he plans to wipe
out half of the universe's population.
He finds a glove from Stonebreaker that will destroy half the universe with a snap of his
fingers.
All that remains is to find the Infinity Stones and place them inside the gauntlet. He starts
collecting them one by one, losing everything and everyone around him in the process, but
eventually, he succeeds in achieving his goal and destroys half of the universe.
A few years later, the survivors reunite with Thanos' daughter Nebula to avenge the dead
and travel to the Garden to kill Thanos. They easily captured Thanos, who was unprotected, and the
Captain asked for the stones, but there was a problem. Thanos had used the stones to destroy the
stones and said, "But it's over. It always will be. I am inevitable."
After this horrible news, there was no hope left. As Thanos said, the work was done.
Nothing could change that. With all hope lost and disappointment, Thor beheaded Thanos with a
sudden movement. Everyone was shocked as no one was expecting him to do something like this.
The Avengers could never be defeated. They should have gone back to earth and looked
for another solution.
1.1 One Way;
5 years later, Ant Man came back with the idea of time travel. He said that objects in the
quantum dimension are not affected by the normal form of time. Tony Stark knew that it was quite
risky. Even though he didn’t approve it, the rest of the Avengers had already started time travel
experiments. At the same time, Stark was also trying to figure out time travel and he succeeded.
1.2 Time Heist;
The survivors gathered and came up with a plan. The Avengers split into 3 groups to go to
different parts of the universe and find the stones to bring back half the universe. But they weren't
the only ones who are looking for the stones. Also, Thanos was looking for them and for some
unknown reasons Nebula showed Thanos everything the Avengers talked about the stones. A big
trouble was about to begin and no one except Nebula realized it.
But the Avengers managed to collect all the stones and made a glove which they could be
placed. Hulk put it on and snapped his fingers.
When the Thanos from the past had returned, a new war has begun.
It’s a sad fact that we all watched Iron Man’s death. So, let’s think about it in a different way.
● What if Thor had never killed Thanos?
● Could Iron Man still be alive?
● What would happen if Thanos from the past and the current Thanos has met?
Topic Agenda Item B: Sokovia Accords
The year is 2016, the year following the destruction of Sokovia during the battle of Ultron.
After devastating events in New York and Washington D.C., public opinion of the Avengers has
reached an all-time low. When a mission led by Captain Steve Rogers goes wrong in Lagos,
Nigeria, resulting in the death of multiple Wakandan aid workers, the United Nations comes to the
decision that the Avengers are too great of a risk to continue to operate privately.
While Tony Stark agrees that the United Nations should form an oversight committee to
ensure there are no further unnecessary losses due to the Avengers, Captain Rogers worries about a
loss of freedom and the threat of third-party infiltration, namely from HYDRA, an organization that
rivals S.H.I.E.L.D. whose goal is world domination. Leading up to the signing of the Sokovia
Accords in Vienna, the official document to establish the international oversight panel, a bomb
detonated by HYDRA exploded in the UN Building, injuring dozens and killing Wakanda’s King
T’Chaka. Captain Rogers, already worried about potential HYDRA infiltration, further opposes the
Accords. The Avengers are further divided on this issue than ever and are facing more international
pressure, especially after the bombing.
Background of the Sokovia Accords
After the Allied Powers' victory in World War II, an American extra-governmental military
counterterrorism and intelligence agency was founded. The Strategic Homeland Intervention,
Enforcement, and Logistics Department—better known as S.H.I.E.L.D.— was formed to maintain
national and global security. In the 1990s, S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Nick Fury met Captain Marvel and
was introduced to an intergalactic war. Fury realized that a group of extraordinary individuals would
be needed to battle the growing forces that conventional military forces or S.H.I.E.L.D. would not
be able to handle alone, much less defeat—leading Fury to start the Avengers Initiative. Under
Fury’s leadership, he recruited crucial Avengers members such as Tony Stark, known as Iron Man,
and Steve Rogers, known as Captain America.
However, the Avengers were not the perfect superhero team that the United States anticipated
them to be. HYDRA infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D., released the Winter Soldier to cause destruction, and
caused devastating destruction across major international cities in an attempt to save humanity.
After the bombing in Lagos, which preceded multiple other major battles, international
leaders urged the United States and the United Nations to take legal action against the Avengers to
prevent more destruction. The United Nations proposed the Sokovia Accords to establish regulation
of enhanced individuals, such as the Avengers. However, HYDRA bombed the building where the
Accords were being signed, killing the king of Wakanda, which scrapped the original Accords and
now a committee consisting of governmental officials and the Avengers will draft a new resolution.
Past, Current Governmental, and UN Action
Before the bombing of the UN Building in Vienna occurred, the original draft of the Sokovia
Accords had been approved by 117 different countries. Regulations within the original proposed
draft of the Accords included the reveal of superheroes’ legal names/identities to the United
Nations, an oversight committee to police future actions made by the Avengers, and a power
analysis to categorize how dangerous the superheroes are. Currently, the original copy of the
Sokovia Accords has been scrapped due to King T’Chaka’s death and must be rewritten with the
help of the Avengers themselves.
● Was the Sokovia agreement necessary?
● Who was right, Iron Man or Captain?
● Which clause would you like to add to the agreement?
All these questions are waiting to be answered, my heroic delegate. Let’s meet on October 21st.
Topic Agenda Item C: What If…?
● "What If...?" is an animated anthology series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
(MCU), known for exploring alternate realities and hypothetical scenarios.
● It offers a unique perspective on established MCU events, characters, and storylines
.
1.1 What If Ultron Won?
Dystopian World: Ultron's victory results in a dystopian future where most of humanity has
been wiped out, and the survivors live in constant fear.
Heroes' Last Stand: The story revolves around the remaining Marvel heroes, including
Wolverine and Invisible Woman, who attempt to mount a last-ditch effort to overthrow Ultron's
rule.
Time Travel: The storyline involves time travel as a means to revisit the past and prevent
Ultron's rise to power, setting in motion a series of events with significant consequences.
1.2 What If Thor were an only child?
1. Altered Relationships: In the absence of Loki, Thor's character development might be
significantly different. Many of Thor's character traits and personal growth are deeply
intertwined with his complex relationship with Loki, who serves as both a foil and a
challenge to Thor's sense of responsibility and leadership.
2. Succession to the Throne: Without Loki in the picture, Thor might have faced fewer
political challenges related to his succession to the Asgardian throne. In the MCU, the
question of who will rule Asgard is a recurring theme, with both Thor and Loki having
legitimate claims to the throne.
3. Solo Adventures: Thor's solo adventures and character arcs might have followed distinct
paths without Loki's mischief and machinations. He might have faced different foes and
challenges without Loki's penchant for chaos.
4. Alternate Foes: Thor's rogues' gallery would likely consist of different adversaries if Loki
were not in the picture. Some of his most iconic foes, such as the Enchantress and Malekith,
are tied to events and conflicts influenced by Loki.
5. Personal Growth: Thor's personal growth and evolution as a character might have taken
different forms. Loki's presence has been a catalyst for many of Thor's moral dilemmas and
opportunities for growth, as he often finds himself torn between his loyalty to his brother
and his duty as a prince and later as a king.
6. Avengers Assemble: The formation of the Avengers might be influenced by the absence of
Loki as a common adversary. Loki's actions were instrumental in bringing the Avengers
together in the MCU's first "Avengers" film. Without Loki, the team's formation could have
a different catalyst.
1.3 Create your What If…?
● Think about the events that have happened at Marvel and turn them into "what if...?"
sentences that, if were changed could have had a significant impact.
We hope to hear creative things from you :)
