One:
○ How were the Vietnam and Iraq wars similar or different in terms of public
support for presidents and presidential candidates?
○ How were these two wars similar or different in public support for these
conflicts?
○ How were the two wars similar or different in terms of treating civilians
under occupation?
○ Is the rhetoric used by political or military officials to describe North
Vietnam and Saddam’s Iraq similar or different? Explain why.

● The Targeted Audience
○ The targeted audience for this discussion and learning
activity is my peers
■ In my opinion, this is the right target audience since this
activity covers mature topics, namely the My Lai Massacre
and the Abu Ghraib Prison, among other issues.

○ From my perspective, the facet of this activity that helps a
particular audience think critically are the discussion
questions.

○ The discussion questions necessitate one to think
critically and reflect upon the historical context of
these situations, whilst offering their own thoughts
on these events.

● Why Did I Choose this Topic and Intended
Audience?
○ I chose this topic because firstly, the War On Terror affected me
personally, as a Muslim, Pakistani-American. Thus learning about
it for me, helps me understand the reality of the War on Terror
and it is something that affected lots of people like me too. I
included the Vietnam War because Iraq and Vietnam are similar
in the American psyche, and the wars share many similarities.
○ I chose this intended audience because I believe that due to the
mature topics in this learning activity, my intended audience
would be mature enough to understand those topics.

● Secondary Sources
○ My secondary sources are like summaries of the information
found in the primary sources. Thus, the important details about
these wars was covered in them, therefore it helped me
understand the historical context to make questions about.
● American History
○ This project helped me understand American History by assisting
me in learning more about events. Specifically, I learned a lot
about the Tet Offensive and the My Lai Massacre in Vietnam, and
Former-President Bush’s approval ratings during the Iraq War.
