- The length of Wave 3 is often 161 percent of Wave 1.
- Wave 5 often ends at the trend line drawn from Waves 1 or 3 that is
parallel to the trend line connecting the ends of Waves 2 and 4.
Again, we still have to go over some of these concepts including
truncations, extensions, and parallel trend lines. Once we do so, these
guidelines will become much clearer to you. But it's important that I include
them here for the sake of completeness.
Diagonal Waves
Leading Diagonals
A leading diagonal is a wave structure that can be found in the first wave
within a regular five-wave impulse (Wave 1) or at the beginning of the
corrective sequence (Wave A). A leading diagonal shares some similarities
with an impulse wave, including the five-wave structure. However, it differs
from an impulse wave in some points.
Here are the two key differences.
- Wave 1 within the leading diagonal tends to be the largest leg within the
structure;
