Abstract: Urban bias in development policies in Ethiopia has for rural poverty alleviation.

This
bias leads to the over-concentration of resources, investments, and opportunities in urban
areas, while rural areas are left underdeveloped and impoverished. The paper examines the
causes and consequences of urban bias in Ethiopia and explores potential strategies for
addressing this issue and promoting inclusive and sustainable development. The findings
