Activity 1: Sentence Building Race (Word Order Practice)
You will work in small teams. Each team will get a set of word cards that are out of order. Your
task is to work together to arrange the cards into correct sentences. The first team to complete all their
sentences correctly wins the round. Make sure your sentences follow proper grammar and word order.

Evaluation:
1. AUTHENTICITY- (18/20)
- This activity represents authentic language use in terms of sentence construction and
grammar, though it is still a structured classroom game. It connects grammar to
communication but lacks complex, natural contexts.
2. CREATIVITY- (18/20)
- The race element adds excitement and a slight twist to standard sentence-building exercises,
showing some originality.
3. STUDENT ENGAGEMENT- (20/20)
- Highly engaging due to the competitive, team-based nature. It encourages collaboration and
participation.
4. MATERIALS- (18/20)
- Uses physical word cards effectively. Could be improved by diversifying materials (ex,
integrating digital tools or multilingual resources).
5. PROCEDURE- (18/20)
- Provides a clear, hands-on way to explore sentence structure. It’s interactive but leans toward
predictable learning methods.

Activity 2: Grammar Jenga
We will play Jenga with a grammar twist. When you pull out a block, you’ll get a grammar question
or task. You must answer the question or complete the task before continuing your turn. If your answer
is correct, you keep playing. If it’s not, you try again before moving on. Keep the tower standing as long
as you can while using correct grammar.

Evaluation:
1. AUTHENTICITY- (18/20)
- The grammar questions are tied to a game format, helping reinforce rules in a semi-
authentic, playful way. However, it may not reflect real-world communication directly.
2. CREATIVITY- (20/20)
- Very creative twist on a traditional game. It shows innovative use of classroom tools to
teach grammar.
3. STUDENT ENGAGEMENT- (20/20)
- Very high engagement. Students are likely to be immersed and motivated due to the tension
and fun of Jenga.
4. MATERIALS- (18/20)
- Uses customized materials effectively. It could be enhanced by documenting sources or
integrating tech-based grammar tools.
5. PROCEDURE- (20/20)
- Highly interactive, with each student contributing individually and engaging in varied
grammar tasks.

Activity 3: Tell the Truth.
Think of three sentences about your life. Two should be true, and one should be false. Share your
three sentences with your group or the class. The other students will guess which sentence they think is
the lie by asking follow-up questions. This activity will help you use grammar in conversation while
having fun with your classmates.

(3rd ed.). Oxford University Press.
Evaluation:
1. AUTHENTICITY- (20/20)
- Excellent real-world application. The task mirrors natural conversations and requires the use
of grammar in a spontaneous, authentic way.
2. CREATIVITY- (18/20)
- The activity is well-known but effective. It requires personal input and critical thinking,
though it's not highly novel.
3. STUDENT ENGAGEMENT- (20/20)
- Encourages active participation and listening. Students are motivated to ask and answer
questions.
4. MATERIALS- (20/20)
- No complex materials needed, but the open-ended format suits diverse learners well.
5. PROCEDURE- (20/20)
- Offers dynamic student interaction and multiple ways to explore grammar in speaking.
