Preparing a product catalog


Introduction

As an interior design student, understanding the basics of building construction is


essential for creating functional and aesthetically pleasing spaces. The design and
construction involves the selection of materials, conveys required standard and the
definition of manufacturing and assembly techniques. It also includes the
consideration of cost aspects as well as preparing technical and design requirements.

Thus, the basics of building construction mainly categories equally to identified interior
elements as a building construction system (such as walls, floor, ceiling etc.), the outer
shell as important as inner shell to shape the interior space and moreover, integrated
product development as a key element to utilize interior space with given meaning.

Learning outcomes

This assignment examines basic understanding of the relationship between interior


construction and product development. Hence, a product design is to create a
solution oriented product that is to be involved a set of strategic and tactical activities
to generate ideas and commercialize the same. It is a systematic approach in which
the product designers conceptualize the ideas, evaluate them, and turn them into
tangible inventions and products.

Students should do a critical analysis and brief introduction on the

Interior Design II module in line with following aspects:
