Reading Log Week 10
1. Evidence: Robert Frost's poem. Do you have regrets
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: An opportunity I feel I may have missed out on?
That’s difficult because I am probably the most indecisive person ever so even if I had to choose
our dinner place I regret not choosing the other one. But a serious thing I regret doing is drifting
apart from my grandparents on both sides of my family. I wish I was able to stay close with both
sides of them continuously. My grandma passed away with cancer a few years ago and not a day
goes by where I wished I would’ve asked more questions. Life questions about love and regret
things like that. Now my grandparents on my dad's side I barely see them once a month. If I'm
lucky they're getting old and my dad's mom has a bad case of dementia. I just wish I could sit
and be able to talk to them like I used to. Now there’s this fear that overwhelms me when I think
about it. I mean how do you tell your grandpa who has this idea that you’re made in god's perfect
image that you’re depressed on a daily basis? You can’t. Why would you do that? Either that or
they’ll convince you that everything’s fine when it’s not. It just makes both parties feel awful.
2. Evidence: Is Robert Frost’s poems more than just two paths in the woods symbolism
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: I believe that the two paths represent how life is full of
many choices. All the time. You can choose the right path or the left path. Sometimes it’s as easy
as right and wrong and choosing the right path. Other times the decisions are much more
difficult.
3. Evidence: What choices do we have with our technologies
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: 1. Social media is a way in itself of sharing your life
passion and even food you eat with others. Personal information is just the tip of the iceberg
when it comes to social media. Some people use social media to not only post every aspect of
their life but it can now be considered a career if you have enough followers.
4. Evidence: What choices do we have with our technologies
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: I have known a lot of people who’ve tried to delete
social media on a number of occasions for a bunch of different reasons. Usually their account
still stays up like if you searched for them or something and their pictures are still on the internet
for the world to see. Even if they did more than deleting the app and went through the whole
process to get it removed there are still remnants of it.
5. Evidence: self imposed limits on technology
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: Personally no, I don’t put limits on my daily
technology use. That is usually because all my schoolwork and classes take place online. I do
have days when I should take more breaks though. With social media and stuff it’s usually really
easy to take a break from it since I don’t use it much.
6. Evidence: Lewis proving his point
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: I believe that Lewis thinks getting interviews from an
outsider's perspective from just himself proves his point a bit more than just using his own
opinions. I believe he does provide other things that prove his point.
7. Evidence: social ethical behavior
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: I’m not completely sure what I think if digital
technologies should be intentionally designed to promote ethical behavior. I feel like it’s up to
the person with the technology to do the right ethical thing.

My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: Self driving cars can have pros and cons. Berman and
Cerf explain that very well when they discuss self-driving cars. I believe they are trying to say
that self-reliant technologies have many pros and cons.
9. Evidence: have you ever lost any important items
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: I have a passport. I’m not exactly sure what happened
to my birth certificate. My mom told me that when we moved everything sort of disappeared. I
had to get a whole new birth certificate and brand new social security card. I store them in an
organized file in a drawer where I put all my important things.
10. Evidence: the identity solution
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation:I believe he might’ve made things a bit more clear if he
did continue to develop what he was trying to say even further than what he was trying to say. I
believe he should touch more on what the ethical systems really are and what they mean to him.
11. Evidence: making ethical choices
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: Trying not to get super personal. I’ll make this pretty
brief. I had to tell a person that was in my life that they weren’t good for me. I’ve known them
for a little over five years. Still we were just different people and changing and instead of
growing together we started growing apart. Personally I wouldn’t have changed anything. I feel I
was very responsible. I didn’t share anything with anyone so it didn’t spread around.
12. Evidence: four leaf clover
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: When I was little I would sit out in the yard for hours
looking and searching for a four leaf clover. I’m Irish from my dad's side so I’ve always known
about four leaf clovers. When I came inside sunburned and super hot and my grandpa found out
about it he gave me a clear gemstone with a real preserved four leaf clover inside. Honestly it
became a sort of good luck thing. It was really cool.
13. Evidence: four leaf clover
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: After reading this I believe the real metaphor of the
four leaf clover is most definitely about life choices and decisions. How God creates four leaf
clovers shows how he sort of creates our loan and choices with us in mind. So it has more of a
religious undertone. The choices we make should be good ones and should take in the
considerations of others and not just ourselves.
14. Evidence: changing your own appearance
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: I have made a dramatic change with my identity. I
usually get bored with my appearance pretty easily. Sometimes I change it with a new hairstyle,
clothes, hair length, new piercings etc. I always try to change it up every once and while like I
said. Usually at some turning point in my life or something. The “old me” always looked pretty
different.
15. Evidence: the unsaved
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: I believe the unsaved aren’t necessarily the “damned”
religiously speaking. They could be just the souls that are desperately looking for a way out or
something to fill their lives. Salvation can usually be found in a number of ways. Either religious
or not.
16. Evidence: how not to be alone
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: Personally I think it would go to my head more like I
wonder why this is happening. Is something actually wrong or is it a trap trying to lure me into a
creepy van to kill me. Another part of me is like okay I really hope this person’s okay. I hope
whatever happens things get better.
17. Evidence: ambiguous endings
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: I believe he may have just left things alone. Then
boundaries between them are considered super important. I don’t believe he should’ve told the
readers what to do because he didn’t exactly have the whole decision himself. He’s leaving it
ambiguous.
18. Evidence: short story
My thoughts, opinions and interpretation: Once upon a time there was a rock who wanted to be
a boulder in a stream. It was the rock's biggest dream to actually be a boulder in a stream.
However, rocks can’t move on their own. The rock waited and hoped and prayed to Mother
Nature. Never losing hope that someday his dream to be a boulder in a stream would come true.
Still he woke up every morning and was still in the same place. Mother Nature herself heard the
rock’s prayers and discussed with the trees, water, and sky above about making a storm big
enough to move the rock into the stream. However, that would be catastrophic and selfish for a
number of different reasons. One thing Mother Nature is not is selfish. So Mother Nature used
her powers and turned the rock into Dwayne the ROCK Johnson. It wasn’t what he wanted but
he was happy and Dwayne the ROCK Johnson has a stream in his backyard that he visits
everyday and lives his best life as a rock in a stream. That is why he is called Dwayne the ROCK
Johnson.
