After I received my topic from my critique teachers I immediately went

to the library and find other sources online to have more detailed and
relevant information that I needed to include in my lesson plan. I started
creating my lesson plan after I gathered different information and I looked
for the learning competencies of the topic/lesson given to me and I started
formulating learning objectives that will align with the included learning
competencies in the curriculum guide. I searched for the possible activities
and questions that would hit the learning competencies; it is very hard to
develop an activity. I struggle in formulating questions that I need to include
on my quiz because there are rules in generating questions and the
questions must be uniform and organized wherein it follow a pattern like if
the item will be followed by people then the thing you need to do is to
transfer it into another type of the quiz item like matching type or
enumeration. After I’m done doing my lesson plan the next thing that I need
to do is to find an appropriate template for my PowerPoint presentation and
it is very hard to find a free template that is also applicable and lightweight
in the eye of my students. In doing the presentation I need to arrange the
lesson's content in the simplest manner. It is very challenging because as a
first-timer, I need to carefully reduce information and look for the learning
competencies for me to be guided on what to include. In doing the
presentation it takes time because I need to check if there are grammatical
errors and I need to search for appropriate pictures and videos that I need to
include to make my presentation alive. After doing the presentation I will
proceed to search for the unfamiliar words for me to understand it and I also
review the content of my presentation, the flow, sequence, and how I will
deliver the presentation. On my first day, I was very nervous because it was
my first time and I was still adapting my course that is applied in a real-life
scenario. But I still give my best and discuss the topic as much as I can
because I don’t want them to be disappointed in me as their student teacher.
For me, it is harder to teach senior high school than junior high school
because the topics are very complex and more detailed, unlike junior high
school topics. While I’m teaching them, I feel like I’m teaching my younger
brother because their age is close to mine. I noticed that they are very happy
if their teachers are not very strict and if they are friendly like the teachers
have the same humor like them. During my demonstration, you can notice
those students who are performing well and willing to participate that’s why
as a teacher you need to observe those students who are not participating
monitor them, and provide possible solutions to make them very
participative in class. As a student teacher and first-timer, I cannot avoid
making mistakes during my teaching demo that’s why I am very open to the
suggestions of my critique teacher and there’s nothing wrong with that. I am
happy that they are correcting my mistakes and giving me some alternatives
or possible ways to correct and modify my way of teaching. It is hard to
teach but I have to make my students learn every concept during their class
hour. Because of the positive things that I do, I am able to end my final
demonstration successfully. But even though I was done with my demo I still
gave a chance to those students who were not able to take the quiz and
activities for them to have my considerations because they are excused
because they have their practice. As a student teacher, I still need to think
about the grades of my students and I don’t want to let them fail the subject.
That’s why I their student teacher will continuously support them and be
their guide to their success until I graduate.
