Page Quality Task Guide

The PQ grid is designed to be your "notepad". You can record your observations about the landing
page and website it belongs to. You must check at least one checkbox in each row that best
describes the landing page or website. You may check other checkboxes in the row, but for most
tasks, 1-2 boxes at most will apply per row.
Each square in the PQ grid will be colored (and shaded) based on your response per the table
below:
● Blue is used for Low or Lowest quality characteristics. Green is used for High or Highest
page quality characteristics (note: these options have high/very high standards).
● Lighter shades of blue/green indicate that the response should play a smaller role in
assigning the overall PQ rating. Darker shades of blue/green indicate that the response
should play a bigger role in the overall rating.

Assigning an Overall Page Quality Rating

After recording your observations in the grid, please assign an overall PQ rating using the slider.
Your responses in the grid should inform and support your overall PQ rating.

Color of Grid Overall PQ Ratings

Dark Blue Pages with one dark blue grid square should usually be rated Lowest.

Medium Blue Pages with one medium blue grid square should usually be rated Low.

Gray Pages with mostly gray grid squares should usually be rated Medium.

Light Green Light green is a "use your judgment" color. Pages with gray and light green squares should
usually be rated Medium, but may be rated Medium+ depending on the purpose of the page
and other PQ characteristics.

Medium Green Pages with all green and gray grid squares, and at least one medium green square, should
usually be rated High.
Note: there is a high standard for using these checkboxes.

Dark Green Pages with all green and gray grid squares, and a dark green square, should usually be rated
Highest.
Note: there is a very high standard for using these checkboxes.

Comments are necessary. Kindly explain your PQ rating using your observations, without simply
restating what's on the grid. Here's a good example of a comment: "Because this is a YMYL
health page, high quality MC and very positive reputation as a medical authority website justify
the Highest rating."

Sometimes, the grid might not fully clarify or support your rating. When you think there's a
difference between the grid and your rating, please provide additional information in your
comments. For instance: "I feel the best overall rating is High. The website was created by a
photography expert and has high quality content, even though the navigation is a bit clumsy."
