•• This is not just a story about land. It's about identity, trauma, and a question the world still can't
answer. Who has the right to call this place home?
For over seven decades, the Israel-Palestine conflict has shaped borders, broken families, and
captured global headlines. But behind every explosion… every negotiation… every shattered
ceasefire… lies something deeper. A story of two peoples — each with history on their side, each with
wounds that never healed.

The Israel-Palestine conflict is not just a territorial dispute; it is a heartbreaking tragedy that has
consumed generations. For over a century, both sides have been caught in an endless cycle of
violence, but who is truly suffering the most?
It all started in the late 1800s, when Jews began migrating to Palestine under Ottoman rule. But it
was the Balfour Declaration in 1917, promising a homeland for Jews, that lit the fuse, setting the
stage for decades of tension with the Arab population. By 1947, the United Nations proposed
dividing Palestine into two states. Yet, when Israel declared its independence in 1948, the
neighboring Arab nations launched an attack. This war displaced 750,000 Palestinians, forcing them
from their homes in Palestine today.
In 1967, Israel took even more land, capturing the West Bank, Gaza, and East Jerusalem. These areas,
central to the conflict, were taken by force, yet Israel continues to expand its borders with little
regard for those whose lives are upended. The people of Palestine are left in a constant state of
suffering, while the world watches in silence.
Despite attempts at peace, like the Oslo Accords in 1993, the violence never stopped. Palestinians
were promised a future, but instead, their hope was replaced with more bloodshed, as the brutal
Second Intifada shattered any remaining trust. And just when it seemed there might be a chance for
peace, Israel withdrew from Gaza in 2005, only to see the rise of Hamas, a group that is labeled as a
“threat” to Israel, though its actions are driven by desperation.
The 2014 Gaza War was a catastrophic event—over 2,100 Palestinians died, many of them innocent
civilians, as Gaza was bombed to rubble. Yet, the world’s response was muted, as if these lives were
expendable. The violence continued, with another round of deadly attacks in 2021, and the horrors
escalated in 2023 when Hamas launched a surprise attack, killing over 1,100 Israelis. Israel retaliated
with airstrikes and an invasion, killing more than 50,000 Palestinians by 2025. Families torn apart,
entire neighborhoods obliterated.
As Gaza burned, powerful Muslim nations remained silent. From Dubai to Riyadh to Islamabad, they
had the means to help—but chose words over action. Only Iran, despite its struggles, stepped
forward. In a time when unity was needed, division prevailed. And Gaza paid the price.
On April 7, 2025, a global strike took place to protest the ongoing violence in Gaza. Activists and
university students from various countries, including Bangladesh, Indonesia, Tunisia, and Lebanon,
participated in demonstrations demanding an end to Israeli actions and calling for a ceasefire. The
protests highlighted the humanitarian crisis, with over 50,000 Palestinians reported dead since
October 2023. The strike reflected growing global concern for Gaza and calls for lasting peace in the
region.
The conflict has drawn global attention, with calls for peace growing louder. Yet, the road to
reconciliation seems as distant as ever. The roots of this conflict run deep—entrenched in history,
culture, and unhealed wounds.
In the end, it’s the children of Gaza and Israel who inherit this legacy of pain. Both sides cry for
peace, but until that day comes, the cycle of violence continues. Can there ever be a lasting peace?
Or will this conflict continue to define the future of generations to come?
The story of Israel and Palestine is far from over. The world watches, hoping for an end to the
suffering. But until peace is achieved, the cries for justice and hope will remain unfulfilled.
-Ending-
You don't need to be Palestinian to stand with Gaza. You only need to be human.
And today, millions across the globe are raising their voices. In every language, from every continent,
the message is clear: Gaza, you are not alone. The world is watching. The world is with you.
From the streets of London to the squares of Jakarta, from Cape Town to Caracas—people are
marching, praying, protesting, and refusing to stay silent.
Because injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.
Let this not be another forgotten tragedy. Let this be a turning point. A moment where the world
refuses to look away.
May we never stop hoping. May we never stop shouting. May we never stop fighting—for Gaza, for
justice, for peace.
