Production Process
The production process refers to the making of a media product and there are three main stages for
media production which include pre-production, production and post production.
● Pre-Production: This is the planning stage
● Production: This stage is the producing of materials
● Post-Production: This is the editing, construction and publication
Magazine equipment and software
There is different equipment and software needed to make a magazine, which includes:

to recreate your images by putting pictures of your own or other peoples in different backgrounds
editing them. This is important for a magazine as it can create more appealing and better quality
images especially for the front cover.
For production for photoshop a 3 month free trial is now available but after that there is a paid
subscription but at different prices for different reasons. It can also depend on whether its a annual
subscription or yearly which can be expensive.
Magazine Production Process
Pre production-content
In the pre-production stage this is where the necessary research and foundational ideas are
shared by a team of people that start by planning content that could be or will be featured in the
article and the magazine itself. During the pre production stage it is essential that ideas and
important directions are made to set the layout of what's to come.

Pre production-Flat planning
Flat planning is where an editorial team lays out a full scale plan page by page on the issue of the
magazine to which the structure of the magazine is laid out. This is essential for the magazine as it
makes it get laid out properly for the audience and makes it easily adjustable and has the best way
of getting the content made. It also helps the content be well organised and keeps the
expectations of the content.

Head of designs- The head of designs at a makes sure responsible for the overall design of the
publication. They oversee the design process, manage a team of creatives, and ensure that the
magazine's design aligns with the brand's image and target audience.
