URBAN AREA

1. All places with a municipality, corporation, cantonment Statutory


board, or notified town area council/committee etc. towns

2. All other places which satisfied the following criteria: Census


towns
i. A minimum population of 5000;

ii. At least 75% of the male working population


engaged in non-agricultural pursuits;

iii. A density of population of at least 400 persons per

Urban Agglomeration : Continuous urban spread, consisting of a statutory


town and adjoining Outgrowths.
