9 Reeving the Ropes

9.1 General

Derricking ropes, luffing ropes and hoist ropes may only be

reeved in accordance with the following tables and reeving dia-
grams.

Other reeving configurations would disrupt the function of the

load limit device.

The safety of the crane can be endangered as a result of in-

correct reeving!

9.2 Reeving the Derricking Ropes

9.2.1 General

As the derricking ropes can remain on the crane during trans-

portation, reeving is only required in exceptional cases (e.g. fol-
lowing repairs or replacement of ropes).
The diagram (Z 53 928) shows the required reeving.

9.2.2 Table for Reeving the Derricking Ropes

(Z 53 928)

E Derricking gear
A Roller set on the A--frame
O Roller set on the superstructure
F Fixing points on the lifting beam
X drum, left--handed
Y drum, right--handed

Wind the rope in the right direction of twist onto the right--handed
drum and the rope in the left direction of twist onto the left--
handed drum.

9.3.2 Reeving the Luffing Rope W2

[Link] General

The luffing rope (W2) is reeved when the Superlift mast has been
fitted on the superstructure and lowered forwards.

In this position the luffing rope is reeved fold between the mast
point and the luffing lifting beam.

The course of the luffing rope in the mast point is shown in dia-
gram (Z53 930).
