II - (SECOND)
The following course is designed as per the needs and requirements of the children. Children
will be introduced to the course through 2D and 3D objects, didactic materials, cards, pictures,
miniature objects, audio-visuals etc. in order to make the concept clear. Parents may carry out
the reinforcement through oral repetition at home.
PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT
1. Introduction to Good Manners and Social Etiquettes.
I must greet my grandparents. Say thank you when receiving something.
I must greet my teacher. I must say sorry when I have done something wrong.
I must greet my neighbors. I must throw rubbish in the dustbin.
I must greet my parents. I should ask before taking anything.
I must greet my guests. I must not speak foul words.
I must not write anything on walls. I must not interrupt when elders are talking.
2. Development of Good Working Habits
I must go to school happily. I must work carefully.
I must complete my work. I must work neatly.
I must work quietly. I must show my work to teachers.
I must ask teacher to help me. I must not talk in the class.
3. Developing Good Concentration
I must watch sunrise. I must meditate every day.
I must watch sunset. I must concentrate on my lesson.
4. Learning Social Adjustment
I must not disturb others I must not push others
I must not talk too much I must not shout.
I must stand in a queue. I must care for others. (Family,Friends,Teachers etc.)
5. Channelizing Energy for Purposeful Work
I must not watch too much T.V. I must water plants.
I must listen to stories. I must feed birds and pet animals.
I must help my parents. I must help my elders.
6. Learning to Grow Up Healthy and Strong
I must play outside in fresh air. I must drink milk.
I must eat green vegetables. I must drink lots of fresh and clean water.
I must eat fresh fruits. I must avoid taking aerated (soft) drinks.
I must avoid drinking tea and coffee. I must not eat spicy and oily foods.
I must chew my food properly. I must not eat too much sweets and chocolates.
7. Good Hygiene Habits
I must brush my teeth in the morning. I must wash my hands before and after eating food.
I must bathe every day. I must flush the toilet after using it.
I must keep my nails short and clean. I must wash my hands after using the toilet.
8. Developing Love and Respect for our Culture and Country
I must respect my elders. I must take care of old people in my family.
I should worship God. I must respect my parents and obey them.
I must celebrate all festivals. I must respect the National Anthem and National
Flag.
9. Learning to be Simple and Sensible
I must wear simple clothes. I must wear light cotton clothes in summer.
I must not use chemical cosmetics. I must wear woolen clothes in winter.
I must not imitate adults. I must not wear ornaments.

NOTE: Parents should not make the children memorize the aspects given from
Group – 1 to 9. They should guide and encourage the children to form the habits
and understand by setting good examples, correction, persuasion through love
and patience.
