THE LIFE IN HONG KONG

As you all know I am Merlin Watson , your

most loved detective . I’ve retired from my
job at the age of 55 and spend my day
telling you stories through my books which
are bestsellers by your love towards my
books. Though I’ve written many of my
experiences still people have been loving my
experiences as a detective . I have stopped
taking cases from the age of 45. The rest
years have passed in other fields of earning
.I’ve been the manager of a football club
called Scorrospi F.C in HK League which was
a large source of my funds. I’ve been the
manager of Central Bank of IKEA in
Luxembourg, Europe. You may be thinking I
am mad that I had stopped being a detective
but believe me readers I had knowledge in
all these fields and my health was
deteriorating , I became a patient of blood
pressure and breathing problems at 37
because I used to smoke a lot to make my
brain work and being a detective was a
stressful job.
So now I live in Hong Kong as my post was shifted there . I had got my new office where I sit . Did you know that Hong
Kong is the place where most crime scenes take place. I guess that is the reason why I was shifted here. So everything is
good here in my opinion. Many places to explore like the historical Bruce Lee statue here, Disneyland ,Tian Tan Buddha
statue and much more. Food here is 7.5 /10 . So Hong Kong is the special administrative region (Wade-Giles) of China,
located to the east of the Pearl River (Zhu Jiang) estuary on the south coast of China. The region is bordered by
Guangdong province to the north and the South China Sea to the east, south, and west. It consists of Hong Kong Island,
originally ceded by China to Great Britain in 1842, the southern part of the Kowloon Peninsula and Stonecutters (Ngong
Shuen) Island (now joined to the mainland), ceded in 1860, and the New Territories, which include the mainland area
lying largely to the north, together with 230 large and small offshore islands—all of which were leased from China for 99
years from 1898 to 1997. The Chinese-British joint declaration signed on December 19, 1984, paved the way for the
entire territory to be returned to China, which occurred July 1, 1997.
The area of Hong Kong (Pinyin: Xianggang; Wade-Giles: Hsiang-kang) has expanded over the years, and it has continued
to grow as more land has been reclaimed from the surrounding sea. Hong Kong Island and its adjacent islets have an area
of only about 31 square miles (81 square km), while urban Kowloon, which includes the Kowloon Peninsula south of
Boundary Street, and Stonecutters Island measure about 18 square miles (47 square km). The New Territories account for
the rest of the area—more than 90 percent of the total. The Victoria urban district located on the barren rocks of the
northwestern coast of Hong Kong Island is the place where the British first landed in 1841, and it has since been the
centre of administrative and economic activities.
Hong Kong developed initially on the basis of its excellent natural harbour (its Chinese name means “fragrant
harbour”) and the lucrative China trade, particularly opium dealing. It was the expansion of its territory, however, that
provided labour and other resources necessary for sustained commercial growth that led to its becoming one of the
world’s major trade and financial centres. The community remains limited in space and natural resources, and it faces
persistent problems of overcrowding, trade fluctuations, and social and political unrest. Nevertheless, Hong Kong has
emerged strong and prosperous, albeit with a changed role, as an entrepôt, a manufacturing and financial centre, and a
vital agent in the trade and modernization of China.
I bought a house near Tian Tan Buddha . I met my neighbour , Shen Jing Su . Looking
towards Shen made me feel that something is wrong in him why is he so suspicious , I
thought what makes me feel like that for a ordinary citizen. So Shen is judge by profession
and he has a crime news collection . What I had observed was that lived like a Englishman ,
wearing suit all the time and wearing old school style Irish or flat hat . When I went to his
house he showed me his collection of crime news and he always said that there is one
crime which is never found in the newspapers and whenever I used to ask about it he
changed the topic which was suspicious. The next day while I was roaming around in the
park of the Tian Tan Buddha statue and I found him dead on the floor. The floor had
become red from green with his sinful blood. I called the police , their incharge Haoyu took
the charge of the case by dismissing me because I had found his dead body. So Haoyu was
taking care of the case and I did not do anything but I became a professional chef and
made Fried rice and Chilli fish for Lunch then expertised in other Chinese dishes. After 7
days again a murder took place and it was no other than Yingchen who was killed.
Yingchen was a very good man during my days in Hong Kong, he was very helpful. But I
could do nothing now as the matter not in my hands any more . Just like Shen his body was
hammered and tortured . There were scars and cuts at all parts of the body it looked like
body was dissected with something like chainsaw.
“I had told you let me handle the case and you didn’t allow me to do it Haoyu what is your problem with me. I think I need to
talk with the commissioner about this Haoyu, because of you Yingchen died. No proper investigation , No proper security
and nothing” I said “ Listen up Mr. Watson you’re a sanctimonious person who is obtuse and does not know anything about
the case and type . I’ve would like to say you leave Hong Kong with a transfer letter and embrace any other job because you
better stop acting as a detective because you are of no use” said Haoyu . I said “ What about you , what is so special about
you Haoyu . The only thing special about you is that your father gave you this position.”
So I was handling the case and I observed the whole house and found out few suspicious newspapers , Now in these
newspapers there were scrambled Chinese words like
黑萝卜会杀了你
which meant Black Turnip will kill you . I thought who is Black Turnip and what is the motive of so many murders. My
observation says that the murderer always gives signs through the communication devices like newspaper and
computers. Important to note that in the computer it was written
我们会吃掉一只流浪狗
It means we will eat a stray dog this means the killers called the victim a stray dog . So I called Bose who was in the
market buying creative paintings to gift them to his brother on his birthday. Bose came and asked “ What happened Mr.
Watson.” “I want your help in the case. Will you help me in this case?” I asked Bose. He agreed and we started
investigating. “So what are main points of the case ?” I asked him , He said “ In my whole reading the case is very hard to
solve ,it is seen in the most cases that the signs come through newspaper and computers and we couldn’t understand the
motive for so many murders.” “Then we should communicate with the editor in my opinion.” I said.
We went to the Neon News channel office . The receptionist told me to wait in the customer lodge while she called the
editor Jisuchen Koyang . She said “Boss Detective Watson has come to talk, will I let him go.” , Jisuchen said “ No Raichen
tell I am out.” So after this everyday we went there everyday and she refused . Now I was annoyed , everyday we were
refused to meet him just because he went out. It is not possible for anyone to have emergency everyday. So I called the
commissioner and the next day he arranged a meeting with Jisuchen and I asked him “ Jisuchen this newspaper was
edited by you or not .” He said “ No Mr. Watson I did not, I was out of station . I was in Wukong Resort.” I left after this. I
called Wukong Resort ‘s Receptionist and said “ Hello I am Minchen , the assistant of Jisuchen Koyang. My boss [Link]
has asked me to gather the details of his stay in this resort.” I had learned acting that is helping me now . The receptionist
said “ No sir , no registrations here.” , So Jisuchen was lying . The next day I went to the office accompanied by the
commissioner and Bose and the forces surrounded the office . Then I kicked the locked door to open it . Jisuchen ‘s blood
became water after watching us come towards him . I said “ Jisuchen you are older than me that is why I am asking you
with due respect to you, why did you give such codes and are you related to this murder .” He replied with a broke voice “
They have kidnapped my family by giving me a ransom of 95,770.21 Hong Kong Dollar and told me to do this to free my
family and they also said if I tell this they will kill my family. I took a loan to compensate the needs of the ransom because
my salary is 19,154.04 Hong Kong Dollar .” and then started crying . I said “ Please don’t worry we will rescue your family
Jingchen.” So after the investigation Bose took me to a very renowned Chinese restaurant because I couldn’t cook today
and I noticed something suspicious that is that the restaurant closes later than the other restaurants . It was late 1’o’
clock but still they were open. I called the waiter and asked for 2 fried rice , 2 bowls of Chilli chicken and 2 plates of
chicken drumsticks . I noticed that people working here are Asian teens who are brothers. I liked their service so I asked
“What is your name boy” he said “Wenxu” and when we left they also left which was heavily suspicious . The next day
again went to the restaurant and had a long chat with the manager , The manager said “The boys are very sincere
towards their work and they work till late night and also ask for less wage. They live in Singoch society” and I said “ I see.”
I went back home and thought for a while , I thought there are three suspects , one is Haoyu who is an inspector but still taking
no action towards the case because I think he is the murderer, another is Koyang who was lying , How could I believe that liar is
not lying this time , the third suspect is the band of boys working in the restaurant as they always leave late in the night. I read
the forensic reports where it was said that the murders took place at 3:00 am in the night both Haoyu and Koyang could be
dismissed as Haoyu is on duty till 5:00 am in the morning and Koyang is a patient of blood pressure and Hypertension. In the
other hand the band of boys are young and have no problems, So I went to Singoch society and went to their room . In my
surprise I found out that the room is full of C-Pop icons and after that I also found out that secret underground floor which was
full of bloody chainsaws, hammers , knifes and nunchakus and it produced a feeling of savage gore. I found out Koyang ‘s family
and requested them to be tension free and assured them that I will save them with the forces. I called the commissioner for the
force and weapons and then I was ready with the forces and went incognito behind the walls. I had got an axe , a pistol and a
machine gun with me , As per the sequence the murders will kill a law official like police or civil judges . I got information from
Koyang that they are going to kill Shenochen today.
So it was time for the wolves to come and hunt for their prey and the boys had bought Shenochen ,before they could
produce a scratch on his body, We came out of incognito and You could not believe readers that I saw somebody whom I
could never imagine in my wildest of dreams Angung , My enemy from the Indonesian case leading the boys in Hong Kong .
He said with a evil laugh “ Mr. Watson do you remember me , I am Angung , your worthy rival. I did not forget what type of
torture provided by the jailers because of you Watson and I look forward to make you pay for whatever you have done with
me Watson .” I said “ Angung , you vulgar low casted worm , I would have encountered you on the day I arrested you or
else I wouldn’t had to see you again.” He shouted at me “ Mind your tongue Watson , I’ve been leading them because they
are the victims of injustice. Do you remember the Orion bank scam in 2010 , the parents of the boys had been punished
,the law was decisive and one sided and the people who were killed are the main reasons for the punishments of these.
That is why Shen always told you that there is a crime nobody knows. You are so dumb that you could not understand this
simple thing. I was always there and I am endless . Nobody could erase me from your memories because we are the evil
that lurks in the shadows. To invite your doom I have placed a bomb which will blast in the next 1 hour. Any last wish
Watson , Pray to god that you don’t become a detective in the next birth .” I said “We’ll see about that , You are failure and
your dynasty is baloney.” He said “ Don’t dare to talk like that to me and start arresting us .” They picked their weapons and
we picked ours. I used my skills to combat the boys and I arrested them . But on the other hand Angung sliced the officers
with his bloody machete and he tried to kill Bose with it but I threw my axe to prevent the machete go towards him. I
instructed Bose and the officers to take the boys and get out as fast as possible as 10 minutes were left for it to explode
and Bose told me to go up but still I refused and fought Angung and killed him . In the last minute the bomb exploded and
everybody thought I died .
Everything is upside down in reality readers , I was alive because there was a secret pathway out and I had come out through
the pathway with Koyang ‘s family members. Everybody was crying and Koyang was accusing me that I gave big promises and
couldn’t complete it. I silently walked to the spot and touched his shoulder and said “I am alive Koyang , you backstabber.” I
told his family members to go into his car and the staff were overjoyed because I was alive. At last the black turnip gang was
destroyed.
