Recommendations
Based on the findings of this study and the insights provided by teachers, the following
recommendations are proposed to address the impact of screen time on young children:
1, Recommendations For Parents Limit and Regulate Screen Time: Parents should
establish clear guidelines on the amount of time children spend on screens, ensuring it
does not interfere with their cognitive, social, and physical development.
Promote Alternative Activities: Engaging children in physical activities, interactive play, and
social interactions can mitigate the negative effects of excessive screen use.
Supervise and Select Appropriate Content: parents should ensure that children are
exposed to educational and age-appropriate digital content rather than unrestricted
access to screens.
Encourage Verbal and Social Interaction: Excessive screen time has been linked to speech
delays. Parents should actively communicate with their children to enhance language
development.
Create Screen-Free Environment: Establishing screen-free zones, especially during meals
and bedtime, can help children develop healthier routines.
2, Recommendations for schools and Educators strengthen parent-Teacher
communication: school should work closely with parents to raise awareness of the effects
of excessive screen time and offer strategies for regulation at home.
Implement Controlled Use of Screens in Learning: If screens are used in classrooms, they
should be integrated in a structured manner to support, rather than replace, traditional
learning methods.
Monitor behavioral changes: Teachers should observe children's behavior and identify any
potential issues linked to excessive screen time, informing parents when necessary.
Encouraging hands-on and social activities: schools should incorporate interactive, play –
based learning approaches that minimize the need for digital devices.
3, Recommendations For Policy and Further Research Establish Screen Time Guidelines:
Educational institutions and policymakers should create clear policies regarding screen
exposure for different age groups, ensuring a balanced approach to technology use.
Conduct Further Research: Additional studies should be conducted to assess the long–
term impact of screen time on children's cognitive and behavioral development, helping
shape evidence-based policies.
Provide Parental Training and Awareness Programs:governments and educational
institutions should develop workshops and campaigns to educate parents about
responsible digital parenting.
By implementing these recommendations, parents, educators, and policymakers can work
together to reduce the negative impact of screen time while promoting a balanced and
healthy learning environment for children.
