Chapter 2: Skeletor’s Sinister Pact
The obsidian spires of Snake Mountain loomed against a stormy sky. Rain pelted the cracked earth while
unnatural lightning streaked overhead, not of nature but of raw magic. Deep in the mountain’s hollow heart,
Skeletor paced.
The staff of Havoc clutched in his bony fingers sparked with restless energy. His eyes, gleaming red in his
skeletal face, stared into a swirling portal.
“What is this madness?” he growled. “I did not summon you.”
The mist parted.
A cloaked figure emerged from the darkness. His form shifted like smoke and shadow, eyes glowing with
the fury of ten thousand dying suns. Skeletor took a step back—this was no mere demon.
“I am Nhar-Zul, the true master of the dark,” the figure said, voice deep and echoing. “Before your time,
before the first war of Eternia, I ruled the night.”
Skeletor sneered. “I take no orders from ghosts.”
Suddenly, Skeletor's staff flew from his grip, and he was flung against the chamber wall with enough force
to crack stone.
“I am no ghost,” Nhar-Zul hissed. “I gave you power. I taught you secrets you barely comprehend. And now,
I have returned to reclaim what was mine.”
A Deal with Darkness
Skeletor rose slowly, his pride bruised but his ambition flickering brighter.
“What do you want from me?”
“I want Eternia to fall,” Nhar-Zul said. “I want Grayskull emptied, its magic broken. And I want He-Man
destroyed.”
Skeletor smirked. “We share a common goal, then. What’s in it for me?”
Nhar-Zul extended a bony hand, and shadows coiled into a dark crystal. “With this shard, your power will
grow tenfold. But you must obey. There is no victory without obedience.”
Skeletor hesitated. For the first time in his vile existence, he wondered if the cost of ambition had a price
too high.
And yet… he reached for the shard.
As his fingers closed around it, shadows burst across his body. His staff hissed with black fire. His laugh
echoed through the chamber—louder, deeper, more twisted than before.
“So be it,” Skeletor declared. “Let Eternia burn.”
Teela’s Doubts
Back in the palace, Teela sat with her father, Man-at-Arms. The stars above Eternos shimmered, but the air
felt wrong—too still, too quiet.
“Something’s off,” she said. “Adam’s been distracted since the transformation. Distant. He’s hiding
something.”
Man-at-Arms looked away. “He carries a burden we may never fully understand. The sword—Grayskull—it
connects him to something ancient. The deeper the darkness grows, the heavier the blade becomes.”
“He doesn’t have to carry it alone,” she whispered.
“Perhaps,” Duncan said softly. “But heroes rarely get that choice.”
The Sky Turns Black
Suddenly, the sky over Eternia shifted. What was once a calm night turned into a swirl of ash and red
clouds. Winds ripped through the forest. Animals howled. Magic trembled.
And from the far side of the continent, a pillar of black flame rose toward the heavens.
In Grayskull, the Sorceress collapsed, clutching her chest.
“Nhar-Zul… He’s back,” she gasped. “The ancient seal has broken.”
Zor, the falcon, screeched as if in warning and soared into the storm.
He-Man Responds
By morning, Adam stood once again at the gates of Castle Grayskull, joined by Battle Cat, Teela, Orko, and
Man-at-Arms. The team gazed toward the dark horizon.
“I can feel him,” He-Man said. “This isn’t just another villain. This is something deeper. Older.”
The Sorceress appeared at the gate, her voice weak but steady. “You are the key, He-Man. The sword was
forged not just for Skeletor… but to face what lies beyond the veil.”
“Then let’s not wait,” He-Man said, his voice filled with resolve. “We ride to Snake Mountain.”
