A1.
As our company continues to grow there will be many opportunities for career advancement from
within. Utilizing our training and development programs would be the best way for our current floor
associates to move up to our management team and continue to climb the ladder through our company.
The training and development program will allow our team members to increase their skill sets in the
areas where they show the most interest, making them desirable candidates for advancement.
A2.
We want to encourage our valuable employees to stay and grow with our company; advancement is a
great way to accomplish that goal. The pool model would be the most effective way to identify our most
promising candidates. Using this we can observe the candidates' interactions while performing
specifically assigned tasks, this will help in identifying our natural leaders. Considering performance in
our development classes along with current job performance we can identify the best candidates for
advancement. A nine-box matrix or depth chart would be the best way to organize and track employees
and determine who is ready for promotion.
A3.
Team members interested in upward movement within the company will need to have a clear idea of
the role that they are interested in. Training may require lateral, upward, or even downward movement
within the company and it will be important that HR is involved to ensure that each candidate is
procuring the experience that they need to get where they want to go. Each team member will provide
and receive feedback at every level of training to ensure that they are developing the skills needed to
obtain their goals and they will be given the opportunity to adjust those goals if their desires change
during the training process.
B1. Communication is an important part of any training program and should be monitored by the
organization for effectiveness. For feedback to be effective it needs to be delivered in an honest, non-
aggressive, and timely manner, this is relevant whether the feedback is positive or negative. When
providing criticism, itis important to be respectful and clear. Trainers should also be aware of their non-
verbal cues such as tone, word choice, and body language.
B2. To ensure that our team members get the most out of their training, trust and communication are
paramount. Our trainers will employ active listening to ensure that everyone participating in the training
program is feels heard and understood. This will create a comfortable space for growth and learning.
C. Inclusivity is important to our organization and as such, it must be important to our training program
as well. Our training spaces will be equipped with wheelchair-accessible ramps and adjustable desks,
reading materials will be available in large fonts and braille. Trainers will be prepared to accommodate
different learning capabilities during training sessions, this may include but is not limited to providing
specific learning materials or slowing down and covering material more than once. There will be a
section of training solely regarding social ethics, inclusivity, and diversity, discussing its importance
amongst our staff and interacting with our customers.
