Scene
Sienna is a 20-year-old woman in 2024 who recently found out
her boyfriend is cheating on her, but she doesn't know how to break up
with him. Her boyfriend (Mark) is a horrible guy who manipulates her
(imagine Rodrick from Diary of a Whimpey Kid but more of an asshole).
Sienna sits on the edge of a bed after hanging up the phone with her
dad. Mark enters while looking at his phone and laughing.
Sienna Hey Mark...
Mark Hey babe.
Sienna So what did you do while I was at work?
Mark Oh, not much... just played games with the guys.
Sienna Cool... so like I think we need to talk.
Mark About what?
Sienna Well I guess I'm not exactly sure how to say it...
Mark I don’t have that long so spit it out, gotta go practice with the
band y’know.
Sienna You’re meeting up with them this late? But the garage you
guys use won't be open.
Mark You don't know what you're talking about, we're just gonna go
practice for a bit.
Sienna But Holly said that Randy’s sick, so how will you practice
without him?
Mark He got better, or something... how should I know? I'm leaving
now.
Mark grabs his bag and starts to leave.
Sienna You’re lying again.
Mark Huh? No I'm not!
Sienna I can tell that you are. You always get defensive when
you’re lying.
Mark Whatever. The guys are waiting for me.
Sienna stands up from the bed and hesitates for a moment
Sienna You’re just making an excuse to leave so you can go talk to
“Jessica”...
Mark stops in his tracks and glares back at Sienna.
Mark What did you just say? Who the hell is Jessica?!
Sienna She’s your other girlfriend, remember?! I went through your
phone this morning!
Mark You went through my phone!? What the hell!
Sienna Yes, I did! And I saw all the messages you've been sending
her!
Mark Are you serious!? I can't believe you!
Sienna I only did it because Sydney said she saw you with some girl
at the club the other day!
Mark Well you can't expect me to be with you all the time! Maybe I
need a break from your constant nagging!
Sienna I barely even nag! All I wanted was for you to care about me
a little! But I guess you never did!
Mark I used to! But you're just so clingy all the time!
Sienna Thats because you're my boyfriend! You’re supposed to pay
attention to me!
Mark I do pay attention to you! I just need some time with my band
and stuff.
Sienna Oh your band, huh? Then is Jessica in your band too?
Mark Stop acting like you know something! Because you don't!
Sienna I do know! I read your messages! You meet up with her
while I'm at work!
Mark Did you ever think that maybe the reason I don't spend so
much time with you anymore is because all you ever talk about is
Madi?!
Sienna Thats because Madi actually cares about me! Every time
you've made me cry, I went to her! And every time she told me I
should break up with you! Turns out she was right!
Mark If you like Madi so much why don't you date her instead!?
Mark starts to leave the room with Sienna following him.
Sienna Oh so you're just gonna walk away like that?
Mark YES!
Sienna Does Jessica know about me, huh?!
Mark keeps walking angerly and slams open the front door.
Mark OF COURSE NOT!
Sienna Then maybe I'll tell her! TELL HER THAT YOU’RE A
CHEATING AND LYING ASSHOLE!
Sienna starts crying and stands in the doorway as mark gets in his
car.
Mark FINE! FUCK YOU THEN! I DON'T NEED YOU!
Mark leaves and Sienna goes back inside slamming the door behind
her. She walks back into the bedroom still crying and grabs her phone
to call her best friend.
Sienna (through tears) Madi? Can I come over? Yeah, you were
right... you were always right.
Sienna grabs her bag and heads back out of the house.
