Mental Math & Memory Enhancement Routine
This structured routine is designed to enhance your mental calculation speed
and memory recall for SSC CGL. By consistently following this plan, you will
develop a sharper mind, improve numerical intuition, and reduce dependency on
written calculations.
Morning Routine (30-45 mins)
1. Number Warm-up (10 mins)
- Recite tables up to 50 in random order.
- Recall squares & cubes up to 50.
2. Quick Calculation Drills (15 mins)
- Mentally solve addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division problems.
3. Concept Recall (10 mins)
- Summarize math concepts and problem-solving methods mentally.
4. Memory Challenge (10 mins)
- Visualize formulas and recall vocabulary words.
Daytime Practice
- Solve every second problem mentally before verifying on paper.
- Summarize topics in 5 sentences after studying.
Evening Routine (30-40 mins)
1. Calculation Endurance (15 mins)
- Multiply, square numbers mentally, and estimate percentages.
2. Reverse Recall (10 mins)
- Retrace problem-solving steps mentally.
3. Mental Math Application (10-15 mins)
- Apply mental math to real-life scenarios and set speed challenges.
Long-Term Strategy for Significant Improvement
- First 2 weeks: Focus on small calculations and quick recall.
- 1st month: Increase complexity with division, percentages.
- 3rd month onward: Mental calculations should be faster than writing.
- By 6 months: Solve entire sections mentally before verifying on paper.
