Weather and environment protection

Hungary is in Central Europe where the climate is continental. There are

four seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter.

In spring the weather is usually brght and sunny. But sometimes it can get
cloudy, rainy and windy so it’s changeable.
Summer is hot, sultry and dry. The temperature is above 30°C. Most of
Hungarian people go on holiday to the lake Balaton, to the mountains or to
the seaside.
The autumn is cold and very windy, so most of the people don’t like it, but
I think autumn has a special vibe with the falling colorful leaves.
Winter is my favourite season. (because of Chirstmas, and we celebrate
together with my family, and I like the snowy landscape). It’s usually very
cold, the temperature often goes below zero. The mornings are foggy and
frosty, and there are snowstorms with strong wind.

Unfortunately, nowadays there are a lot of environmental problems: holes

on the ozone layer, the greenhouse effect, the pollution of the air, soil and
water.

Something must be done before we totally destroy our planet.

animals which die out to our days.

We can reduce pollution if we use less energy and water: we should switch
off lights, our computer, or TV when we don’t use them. We should use
low-energy bulbs, we should turn off the tap while brushing our teeth. It is
a good idea to walk or ride a bike instead of taking the bus or driving our
car. Fortunately, there are more and more electric cars. We can use
alternative energy sources, such as solar energy to heat our house or to
make electricity. We can collect waste separately and recycle them. It
means we can collect our rubbish separately eg. glasses, paper, plastic
etc. We can also buy recyclable products. Moreover, we can print both
sides of the paper. We should always take a carrier bag when we do the
shopping. In this way we do not need to buy a plastic bag.
