ABSTRACT

During breaks, there is a huge crowd in the college canteen. From the queue at the coupon counter to the serving counter, a lot of time is spent waiting,
so the students and faculty get late for their lectures. Both students and faculty often wish to find a way to reduce or eliminate this waiting time
considerably. One solution to this problem is to have a system by which once the order gets placed it is directly displayed on a monitor in the kitchen.
This would avoid the time wasted at the serving counter when a server takes time to deliver previous orders before taking a new coupon and placing it in
the kitchen. Also one can have a facility for placing orders in advance so that his/her order is kept ready just for the particular time he/she chooses. The
time spent over tendering change can also be reduced by facilitating payments via e-wallet. Also, he/she can pay with cash on delivery.

Introduction
In today's fast-paced world, traditional canteens relying on pen-and-paper records, cash transactions, manual calculations, and credit management are
becoming increasingly inefficient. The manual record-keeping process is not only time-consuming but also prone to human error, leading to operational
inefficiencies and potential customer dissatisfaction. To address these challenges, we propose the development of a state-of-the-art Android application
designed to streamline the management of canteen menus and orders. Our application is engineered to revolutionize the way canteens operate by
integrating modern technology into their daily operations.
The primary goal of our proposed application is to significantly reduce the time customers spend waiting in queues by sending orders directly to the
kitchen. Additionally, the application allows customers to place orders in advance and offers a prepaid wallet facility, thereby eliminating the time
wasted in tendering change. This innovative approach to canteen management not only enhances customer satisfaction but also optimizes the overall
efficiency of the canteen.
We aim to provide a quality solution to students and canteen operators through our Canteen Management software, which can be seamlessly
implemented in both large and small-scale canteens. The software is particularly effective in college canteens, where long queues are a common sight.
By directly transmitting orders to the kitchen, enabling advance ordering, and incorporating a card payment system, our application drastically reduces
the time spent in queues and handling cash transactions. The time saved can be utilized more productively for other relevant activities.
In the current scenario, cash payments are the predominant mode of transaction in canteens, especially smaller ones. However, this method is becoming
increasingly outdated and inefficient. Our software solution is designed to adapt to the evolving needs of canteens by offering a modern, technology-
driven alternative that simplifies the payment process and enhances the overall dining experience.

Literature Review
In this paper, the system can take orders at the counter and through online applications and display them on monitors in the kitchen. The internet
application would make use of XML for the front end and Java for the back end. Appropriate protection aspects shall be implemented to prevent attacks
on the usage of the 2048-bit El-Gamal encryption scheme. For placing orders in advance, we will create a web application. The orders placed in Enhance
will have an ORDER ID which shall be used to get the order delivered at once to the serving counter. Payments can be made through cash or e-wallet at
the counter. Elgamal asymmetric encryption scheme also is a public key cryptography algorithm. The security of this algorithm lies in the issue of
calculating discrete logarithms. The operations like recharge, payment, and refund are to be performed the database values are decrypted and then the
operations are performed on the decrypted values. After the operation is done the values are again encrypted and stored in the database. A 2048-bit key is
used for encryption. On the consumer side, an Ajax call is made for a servlet to get cipher text to encrypt the sensitive data transmission between the
consumer and server.

Conclusion:
The proposed system offers a robust solution to the inefficiencies of traditional canteen operations. Integrating modern web technologies and advanced
encryption mechanisms ensures secure, efficient, and user-friendly service for both customers and canteen staff.

Discussion and Methodology

Figure 1. Data Flow Diagram Level 1

Figure 2. Data Flow Diagram Level 2

1. The Brain (Dine-EPay System - Central System)

 Just like a person’s brain controls and coordinates their actions, the Dine-EPay System acts as the control center, managing all activities and
ensuring smooth interactions between different parts.
 It helps in decision-making, communication, and maintaining overall efficiency.
2. The Receptionist (Customer Management)
 This is like the person at the front desk or counter who welcomes customers records their details, and helps them with any issues.
 The system remembers customers, their preferences, and their past purchases, making interactions smoother and more personalized.
3. The Chef (Menu Item Management)
 Similar to a chef managing the kitchen, the system keeps track of available food items, updates menus, and ensures everything is ready for
orders.
InternationalJournalofResearchPublicationandReviews,Vol5,no1,pp2841 3
 If something runs out, it notifies the kitchen or stops taking new orders for that item.
4. The Manager (Canteen Owner)
 Just like a restaurant manager oversees everything, the canteen owner has full control over the business.
 They monitor sales, manage employees, track food inventory, and ensure smooth operations.

5. The Waiter (Order Management)

 The system plays the role of a waiter, taking orders from students (customers), making sure they reach the kitchen, and delivering the final order.
 It ensures fast service, keeps track of pending orders, and avoids confusion in a busy canteen.
6. The Customers (Students)
 Students act like diners in a restaurant, browsing the menu, placing orders, and making payments.
 They can either pay in cash or use an e-wallet, just like paying by card or mobile payments in a real restaurant.
7. The Accountant (Sales Management)
 Just like an accountant keeps track of money, sales, and expenses, the sales management system records all transactions.
 It generates financial reports, helping the owner understand profits, losses, and future business strategies.

Conclusion

The advantage of using this system is that the scale or size of the business no longer poses a limitation. Whether it is a small-scale enterprise or a large
corporation, this platform can be effectively implemented to enhance operational efficiency. One of the most significant benefits of this system is its
adaptability and scalability, ensuring that businesses of all sizes can leverage its capabilities to streamline their processes and optimize resource
utilization.
A notable feature of the system is its user-friendly interface, which ensures that individuals using the application do not require extensive training or
prior technical knowledge. The application is designed with simplicity in mind, making it accessible to a broad spectrum of users. Whether it is a
business owner, an employee, or an administrator, the ease of navigation and intuitive design allows users to operate the system efficiently without the
need for specialized education. This significantly reduces the learning curve and enhances overall productivity.
From an administrative perspective, this system provides business owners with complete control and oversight of their operations. Admins can monitor
and maintain a record of all ongoing activities within their business, allowing them to make informed decisions based on real-time data. This enhanced
visibility helps in identifying patterns, optimizing inventory management, and ensuring that all aspects of the business function smoothly. With a
structured monitoring mechanism in place, administrators can prevent discrepancies, minimize losses, and enhance overall efficiency.
The automation of processes is another key advantage of this system. The fully automated nature of the platform eliminates the need for manual tracking
of sales and inventory. Business owners no longer have to manually manage records related to the quantity of food items sold daily or the availability of
stock in the store. This automation reduces the likelihood of human error, ensures accuracy, and allows businesses to function with minimal supervision.
As a result, businesses can save time and resources that would otherwise be spent on manual record-keeping and inventory checks.
This system is particularly beneficial for large-scale institution canteen businesses, where managing daily operations can be a challenging task. Canteens
cater to a high volume of customers, and manual management of sales and inventory can lead to inefficiencies and errors. By implementing this system,
canteen administrators can streamline order processing, track inventory levels in real-time, and maintain accurate financial records. The system provides
a reliable solution to the common challenges faced by large-scale institutional canteens, ultimately improving service delivery and customer satisfaction.
In conclusion, the integration of this system into business operations offers numerous advantages, including scalability, ease of use, enhanced
administrative control, and automation of critical processes. It addresses the challenges faced by both small and large businesses, providing a practical
and efficient solution for managing sales, inventory, and overall operations. By adopting this system, businesses can enhance their efficiency, reduce
errors, and focus on growth and customer satisfaction.
