Unit 7 - Sports & Activities
> Part 1:
1. Do you like walking?
2. Do you visit parks often?
3. Have you learned to swim?
4. What is the most popular sport in your country?
5. Which do you prefer: Indoor or outdoor activites?
6. What kind of outdoor activities did you participate in when you were a child?
> Part 2:
Describe a sport you have learnt to play
> Part 3
1. Why do you think extreme sports are popular?
Well, I think extreme sports are a hit these days because people are constantly looking for something that
gives them a rush of adrenaline. Life can get pretty repetitive, and extreme sports offer a way to break out of the
routine and feel truly alive—even if it’s just for a moment.
Also, I think social media plays a big part. People love to show off their bold side online, and let’s be honest,
a video of someone skydiving or mountain biking off a cliff gets way more likes than someone just going for a jog.
On top of that, it’s not just about the thrill. For many, these sports are a way to push their limits, build
resilience, and prove to themselves that they can handle fear. It’s kinda like therapy—but with a parachute.
2. Do you think students should take P.E classes?
Absolutely. P.E. might not seem like a big deal, but it teaches students a lot more than just how to throw a
ball. First of all, it helps them stay active and develop healthy habits early on. And with all the time spent sitting in
front of screens these days, they need a chance to get moving.
Also, P.E. classes help with teamwork, discipline, and even stress relief. It gives students a break from
academics and helps them blow off some steam, which actually boosts focus later in the day.
Of course, not everyone is into sports, but that’s fine. P.E. doesn’t have to be about competition. It should be
about finding joy in movement and building a healthy relationship with your body.

Unit 8 - People
> Part 1
1. Who do you resemble the most among your family members?
I definitely take after my paternal grandmother, especially in terms of appearance. When I came across some
old photos of her from her younger days, even I was surprised at how much I look like her. People in my family
always point that out whenever we talk about her.
2. Do you prefer having lots of casual acquaintances or having a few close friends?
I’d say I go for a small circle of close friends rather than a large group of casual acquaintances. I really value
the kind of friends I can count on and open up to, rather than just people I occasionally hang out with.
3. Do you like meeting new people?
Absolutely! I’m always up for meeting new people, especially those who are talented or passionate about
what they do. It really pushes me to step up my game and learn from them. I think surrounding myself with such
people helps me grow a lot.
4. Do you meet new people more often now than in the past?
For sure. As I’ve grown older, I’ve started getting out there more, joining different events, taking part in
social activities, and even traveling to new places. All of that has helped me come across a lot of interesting people I
wouldn't have met otherwise.
5. Do you have a teacher from your past that you still remember?
Yes, there's one teacher who truly stands out. She played a huge role in getting me into foreign languages.
She didn’t just teach me the basics — she really got me hooked on learning them. I looked up to her so much that at
one point, I started seeing her as family.
> Part 2
Describe a person who you follow on social media.
One famous person I think will be a great role model for young people is Mark Rober. He’s an American
engineer, inventor, and YouTuber. I first came across him quite by accident while browsing YouTube. I clicked on
one of his videos where he dropped an egg from space as part of an experiment, and I was instantly hooked by his
creativity and enthusiasm for science.
Mark Rober has done many incredible things throughout his career. He used to work for NASA as an
engineer and even contributed to the Mars Rover project. After leaving NASA, he started his YouTube channel,
where he breaks down complex scientific phenomena and explains them in a fun, easy-to-understand way. He’s also
the founder of CrunchLabs, which is a company that provides kids with creative toys and resources to help them
learn science and think like real engineers. One of his most famous projects is the glitter bomb that he created to
catch package thieves, but later he expanded the project to expose large-scale phone scams.
I believe Mark Rober is an excellent role model for young people because of his creativity, deep knowledge,
and relentless curiosity. He always encourages learning and problem-solving in an engaging way. Beyond his
professional skills, he also shows kindness and a sense of responsibility towards society by using his talents to fight
against scams and raise awareness about important issues. These qualities make him a figure that young people can
look up to and learn from.
> Part 3
1. What are the differences between talking to a friend and talking to a stranger?
Talking to friends tends to be more relaxed and comfortable because they are people we already know well.
We can easily express our emotions and be ourselves without worrying too much about how they might perceive us.
On the other hand, with strangers, we tend to be more cautious with our words. We’re not sure about their
preferences, sensitivities, or views, so we have to tread carefully. However, talking to strangers is not necessarily a
bad experience, as friendships often begin with two people who are unfamiliar with each other!
2. Do older people and younger people use the same kinds of social media apps?
Age can influence the type of social media platforms people use to some extent. For example, younger
people are more likely to use apps like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok to stay updated with trends, chat with
friends, and read the latest news that appeals to their interests. Meanwhile, older generations tend to prefer media
apps that are more focused on providing information, like reading news articles, especially about politics or health,
rather than the entertainment-driven content favored by younger people.
However, both groups sometimes share the same apps, such as YouTube, where both younger and older users
can enjoy watching videos or finding content that aligns with their interests. Ultimately, it really comes down to
what each individual is looking for.

Unit 9 - Food & Health
> Part 1
1. Do you like cooking?
Not really. I’m not good at whipping up meals, and I tend to mess up the kitchen whenever I try. So I’d rather
steer clear of it.
2. What is your favourite food?
That would be spaghetti. Even though I’m Vietnamese, I fell in love with it after trying it at a family friend’s
restaurant when I was a kid. It totally stood out and gave me this super unique feeling—since then, I’ve never gotten
over it.
3. How often do you eat fast food?
Once in a blue moon. I don’t really go for fast food—it’s just not my thing. I prefer meals that are a bit more
wholesome and don’t leave me feeling like I’ve overdone it.
4. Do you prefer home-cooked meals or restaurant food? Why?
I’m all for home-cooked meals. Restaurant food doesn’t always match my taste, and to be honest, I’m a bit
picky when it comes to food. My taste buds don’t put up with just anything!
5. What do you do to stay healthy?
I try to stay positive and keep up with drinking enough water. It sounds basic, but it really helps me stay on
track!
> Part 2
Describe something you do to keep fit and healthy
Well, one thing I’ve recently picked up to stay both physically and mentally healthy is meditation. It might
not sound like your typical workout, but it honestly does wonders for the mind—and, surprisingly, the body too.
I usually do it in the early morning, right after I wake up. That’s when the world is still quiet, and my mind
isn’t cluttered with a million thoughts yet. I find a calm spot in my room, sit down, close my eyes, and just focus on
my breathing. I don’t follow any fancy routine—I just try to clear my head and stay present.
As for how often, I try to fit it in every day. Of course, there are days when life gets a bit hectic and I miss a
session, but I always bounce back the next day.
Now, why is this a good way to look after my health? First of all, it helps me keep stress at bay. After
meditating, I always feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders. It improves my focus, helps me sleep better,
and honestly, makes me less grumpy too. And when your mind is in a good place, it becomes way easier to take care
of your physical health too.
All in all, meditation is my go-to method to stay grounded, and it’s been a total game-changer for my well-
being.
> Part 3
1. Should schools provide physical education to students? Why and how?
Yes, schools should provide physical education as a subject because it helps students stay healthy, reduce
stress, and develop teamwork skills. Without exercise, students may face health issues like obesity and fatigue.
To implement it, schools should have regular PE classes with various activities like running, team sports, and
stretching exercises. It’s also important to include lessons on fitness and nutrition to help students build lifelong
healthy habits.
2. How do children and old people keep fit and healthy?
Children stay fit by playing outdoor games, running, and participating in sports. They need a balanced diet
with lots of protein, vegetables, and dairy for growth. Also, getting enough sleep is crucial for their energy levels.
Older people, however, should do light exercises like walking, yoga, or swimming to keep their joints
healthy. Their diet should focus on fiber, calcium, and protein to maintain strength. They also need social activities
to stay mentally active and happy.

Unit 10 - Travel & Transport
> Part 1
1. Which do you prefer, public transportation or private cars?
I prefer private cars because they’re more convenient and comfortable. I don’t have to worry about crowded
buses or long waiting times.
2. What is your favourite type of transportation?
I really like motorbikes. They’re fast, easy to park, and perfect for short trips. In my country, a lot of people
use them for daily commuting.
3. Do you think many people ride bikes in your country?
Yeah, especially students. Many of them ride bikes to school every day because it’s cheap and practical. In
some cities, even adults use them to stay fit.
4. Did you learn to ride a bike when you were a child?
Yes, but I learned later than most of my friends. I was quite scared at first, so I only started riding properly in
grade 6. It took me a while, but once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed it.
5. Do you think bikes will become more popular in the future?
yes, I think so. More people are becoming aware of environmental issues, and bikes are a great way to reduce
pollution. Plus, they help people stay active and healthy.
6. Have you ever taken a long-distance trip by bus or train?
Yes, many times, especially during summer vacations. I usually travel by bus or train when going on holiday
with my family. I prefer them over planes because I don’t really like flying.
> Part 2
Describe a foreign country you would like to visit in the future
If I had the chance to travel abroad, Cambodia would be at the top of my list. My curiosity about this country
was sparked after watching the movie No More Bets. The film sheds light on online scam operations in Southeast
Asia, and while it doesn’t specify the exact country, it made me eager to learn more about Cambodia’s culture,
history, and way of life.
One of the biggest reasons I want to visit is to witness the breathtaking beauty of Angkor Wat, a UNESCO
World Heritage Site. From what I’ve seen in documentaries and pictures, the temple complex looks absolutely awe-
inspiring, especially at sunrise. I believe immersing myself in the rich history of this ancient civilization would be a
once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Apart from that, I’ve heard that Cambodian street food is to die for, with dishes like Amok and Lok Lak
being must-tries. Exploring local markets and indulging in authentic Cambodian cuisine would be an experience
worth every penny.
On top of that, Cambodia is just a stone’s throw away from my country, so traveling there wouldn’t break the
bank. All in all, I think a trip to Cambodia would be both exciting and educational, and I hope I get to visit it sooner
rather than later!
> Part 3
1. How do people get information about other countries?
Well, these days, most people rely heavily on the internet to learn about other countries. Social media, online
videos, news websites—they all play a big role. Just by scrolling through your phone, you can come across tons of
cultural facts, travel experiences, or even daily life updates from people halfway across the globe.
Besides that, people also learn through books, documentaries, or by actually getting in touch with foreigners
—like through study exchanges or online language communities. I think what really matters is that people are now
more curious and open-minded than before, and technology just opens the door for them to explore beyond their
borders.
2. what are the advantages of working in an international company?
There are quite a few perks, actually. First off, you get to broaden your horizons by working with people
from different backgrounds. It’s a great way to learn new perspectives, improve your soft skills, and even pick up
another language if you’re lucky.
Secondly, international companies usually offer better career prospects. They often have structured training
programs, chances for promotions, or even opportunities to work abroad. You’re more likely to climb the career
ladder in a place that values global experience.
And, to be honest, the vibe is often more dynamic and open-minded. Everyone’s trying to grow, and that kind
of energy really rubs off on you in a good way.
