capacity to take advantage of that opportunity.     It is simply the opinions of those filling out
the boxes. Virtually everything that is a strength is also a weakness. Virtually everything that is an
opportunity is also a threat. Adding layers of effort does not improve the validity of the list

TOWS Matrix TOWS Matrix can be interpreted as a framework to assess, create, compare, and finally
decide upon the business strategies. It is a modified version of a SWOT analysis and is an
abbrevia on that stands for Threats, Opportuni es, Weaknesses, Strength. TOWSanalysis will follow
your SWOT analysis.

. STRENGTH AND OPPORTUNITY (SO) SO or Maxi-Maxi strategy u lizes internal strengths to maximize
or op mally use external opportuni es available to an organiza on. 2. STRENGTHS AND THREATS
(ST) ST or Maxi-Mini strategy maximizes the strengths of a business and minimizes the threats ST or
Maxi-Mini strategy maximizes the strengths of a business and minimizes the threats using those
strengths. 3. WEAKNESS AND OPPORTUNITY (WO) WO or Mini-Maxi strategy’s aim is to minimize
weaknesses of an organiza on and maximize opportuni es. This strategy revamps internal
weaknesses by using external opportuni es. 4. WEAKNESS AND THREATS (WT) The WT strategy, also
known as the mini-mini strategy, aims to minimize threats and weaknesses. A TOWS matrix example
will show that it’s a defensive spot in the matrix that is u lized by businesses in adverse situa ons.
