 A philosophy that emphasis the addressing of social questions and quest to create
a better society and worldwide democracy.

 system must be changed to overcome oppression ,injustice , illness , tyranny ,


poverty and other social issue through reforms , revolution , social action and pure
democracy.
 “ Reconstructionism seeks to build society afresh”.
 Successor of progressivism.

 ( RECONSTRUCTIONISM was a reaction against WW2 )
 Atomic war
 Expansion of countries
 Colonialism
 Autocracy
 Massive human killings
 Miseries and poverty
 Injustice
 Violation of human rights
Aims of Reconstructionism

 Pure world wide democracy is needed


 Massive reforms are crucial for all walks of lie
 Only Revolutionary changes in all spheres of life can bring real change
rather just small steps.
 New social order is needed for peaceful living, well being prosperity
 Violence , hunger , terrorism , poverty , inequality , inflation can be routed
out through revolution.
 human welfare is given importance.

Teaching Method:
problem solving, project method , cooperative learning.

Curriculum : curriculum should focus on student


experience and taking social action on real problems.

Teacher : teachers prepare the students to take


responsibility to work for better conditions .
