issues can be changed only with a certain kind of social
planning. Social issues affect every member of the society
directly or indirectly.

that greatly affect people within the society directly or
indirectly. Social issues is a group of some common issues or
problems in the present- day society and ones that many
people strive to solve. And I am sure that you already know
some common examples of social issues. Am I right?)

Social Issues in the Society:

Pollution- it is a global problem and is the introduction of

harmful materials into the environment. These harmful
materials are called pollutants. Pollutants damages the quality
of air, water and land.
-Yes ma’am.
(Pollution is the contamination of the natural environment
which exists around us and helps in normal living. Any type of
pollution in our natural surroundings and ecosystem causes
instability, insecurity, illness, harm, discomfort and distress in
our normal living. Human activities like the industrial activities
have made this problem as one of the major social issues. And
we can also consider the irresponsible man- made activities as
one of the biggest reasons that results to the pollution of soil,
air and water to a great extent. Understood?)

-What are the examples of man- made activities that helps in

promoting pollution to our environment? Yes, _____?

-Well said, ____.

Poverty- it is a multifaceted concept inclusive of social,

economic, and political elements. It is a state or condition in
which a person or community lacks of the financial resources
and essentials for a minimum standard of living.

Discrimination- is the prejudicial treatment of a person or

persons based solely on their membership in a certain group
or category.

(Discrimination is an actual behavior of excluding or restricting

members of one group from opportunities that are available to
other groups. Discrimination occurs when some people are
treated differently than others because of their membership in
a group, like for example because of the race, age, gender,
religion, and sexual orientation.)

the basic human rights of a certain individual. All people have
the right to live freely and with dignity, so any form of killing,
violence and abuse simply violates one person’s right to live

Avoid loud and aggressive persons-
they are vexatious to the spirit.

If you compare yourself with others,

you may become vain or bitter,
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than
yourself.
Enjoy your achievements
as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career-
however humble; it is real possession
in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs,

for the world I's full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals,
and everywhere life is full of heroism.
Be yourself.
Especially do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love,
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment,
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,

gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline,

be gentle with yourself.
You are a child of the universe
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore, be at peace with God,

whatever you conceive Him to be.
And whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life,
keep peace in your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a

beautiful world.
Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

(Having read the poem by the class, they will identify which
social issues we tackled will likely be addressed in the poem,
and which particular lines are these which speak strongly
