SECTION 15: QUEUE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

1. GENERAL

The queue management system includes:


− Computer, Control Unit and System software
− Ticket Printer
− Workstation display
− Main Display
− Workstation terminal (Counter Terminal)

2. EQUIPMENT SELECTION & SOFWARE


2.1. Printer

The ticket printer is a fundamental part of every Queue Management System.


The printer is a reliable and silent printer for ticket dispensing.

− Thermal Print Head, no ink or toner.


− 1–10 Ticket Buttons.
− Flash memory – easy to upgrade the internal software.
− Serial interface – the can be connected to a modem for remote upgrading of the
software.
− Lockable hood to protect the ticket roll.
− Smooth surface that is easy to keep clean.

2.2. Workstation Display

The Display can show up to four characters depending on the font. Perfect as a Workstation
Display or as a small Information Display.

− Special characters (arrows, Euro symbol).


− Different fonts.
− LED available in three colours (red, green or three-colour).
− Stackable with Displays and Signboards.
− Scroll text in any direction.

The Display can show up to eight characters, two lines depending on the font.

− Special characters (arrows, Euro symbol).


− Different fonts.
− LED available in three colours (red, green or three-colour).
− Stackable with Displays and Signboards.
− Scroll text in any direction.

2.4. Workstation Terminal

The workstation terminal is a sophisticated workstation terminal that allows the users to
manage customer flows more efficiently. Customers can easily be called and transferred
between workstations. Reprogram able keys.

− Customizable display.
− Five priority keys – change service modes as needed.
− Track staff performance with unique login Ids.
− External connectivity
− Can be connected to barcode scanners and other devices.

2.5. Voice System

2.6. System Software

− Operating system : Window 2000, XP


− Runs as a stand-alone application, in local area networks or wide area networks.
− On-line information and storage of statistical data.
− Handles many types of flow: people, objects or documents.
− Can prioritize between services.
− Includes a database of staff members and customer information.
− Additional functions can be added when required.
− Embedded Web server.
− Collects statistics from branches and delivers to the head office.
− Use applications and options to customize the system.
