Group 1 : The Dance Dilemma

*A group of friends are currently having random discussions until jhajha brought up about her
wanting to join a dance competition
Nick: Guys I just saw the new post regarding an upcoming dance competition, and I’m really
hesitating whether I should join or not.
Reden: What’s there to hesitate for? You’re a really great dancer.
Ernest: Yeah, you should really go for it, haven’t you been wanting to join a dance competition
since forever.
Jha: Exactly, why are you getting cold feet now? What’s the point of all the time you spent
practicing.
Nick: I don’t know I just really feel like im not suitable for it.
Vincent: Why not?
Nick: I just think that my constitution is not that appealing compared to the other contestants
that join those competition
Vincent: You’re Constitution?
Nick: Yeah, I mean. I’m not that tall, and I’m also not that pretty, so I’m not as eye catching as
others.
Reden: What do you mean not pretty? We Think you’re plenty pretty. Those other contestants
can ‘t even hold a candle next to you.
Ernest: True, Besides it’s not a beauty pageant. It’s a dancing competition.
Nick: You’re right, fine ill join in the audition later.
*Some time after, the group of friends saw Jha sitting alone*
Vincent: There you are, So? How did it go?
Jha: Yeah, what happened?
Ernest: Did they cancel the competition because they already saw the winner after, your
performance?
Nick: What’s there to say? I didn’t even come to the audition.
Reden: What?!, Why not?
Nick: Well, I did, went. But when I was at the door of the audition room. I suddenly got cold feet I
got scared, and decided to just not audition.
Vincent: We don’t want to force you into anything, that you’re afraid of doing. But you’ve
always wanted this. Are you sure you’re not going to change your mind?
Reden: Yeah, we can tell with a hundred percent certainty that you are way more than good
enough to join in this competition. So, we hope you can still give it a chance.
Nick: Thanks guys but I just don’t think I’m ready for it quite yet, I truly appreciate your
encouragement. Im sure another opportunity would come up and maybe ill be ready by then,
and don’t worry I can very much assure you that I’m fine. I just want to be alone for now.
Vincent: Okay, if you say so. Just call us if you need anything. We’ll always be here for you.
*Everyone leaves, Ernest come’s back*
Ernest: Look maybe there’s a lot of things that you’re scared or concerned about, like fear of
rejection or that maybe you’ll embarrass yourself while you’re performing. But you’ve done all
those practices, and we won’t know what could happen until you try. If you fail, then try again.
You know, just like I always say failure is one of the greatest teachers learn its lessons, and the
reward will be everlasting.
Nick: But it’s not just that, I’m just not confident of how I look, performers are supposed to be
eye catching and I just feel like I’m very lacking in that kind of area.
Ernest: People have their own way of perceiving beauty, and we think that all and every people
is beautiful in their own way, besides even if you’re not goodlooking. Not that you aren’t. You’re
talents are not tied down to your physical appearance. And I can tell you with a hundred percent
certainty that you are far more than good enough and is more than capable of participating on
that dance competition. We all have our own insecurities, but I hope that you won’t let that
insecurity hold you back and prevent you from achieving your dreams and doing the things that
you want to do.
Nick: You’re right, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have ran away.
Ernest: I know I’m right I always am, and you don’t have to say sorry. What are friends even for.
We’’ll always be here to encourage you and cheer you up whenever you need it.
Nick: Ok, tomorrow ill go there. And attempt to try to audition again.
Ernest: Ok, tomorrow well be there too well be there to support you and make sure you won’t
runaway again.
*The Following day Nick finally gathered enough courage to audition for the competition and his
friends where there to support him. *Dances in front of the judges and got in*
Vincent: See we knew you’ll make it. Now its time to practice to make sure you’ll win the
competition.
