Classification of Beverages
2.1 The history of beverage in the globe.
• There are some controversies around this, but mead is
considered to be the oldest alcoholic beverage.
• What was the world's first beverage?
• Chemical analyses recently confirmed that the earliest
alcoholic beverage in the world was a mixed fermented
drink of rice, honey, and hawthorn fruit and/or grape.
• The earliest archaeological evidence for the production of
the mead dates to around 7000 BC.
• Researchers reveal that the beverage consisted of wild
grapes, honey and rice, so-called wine mead sake, which
is the oldest record of an alcohol-containing drink.
• Considered one of the original drinks, milk is the first
non-alcoholic drink. It is created during breeding
domesticating animals in the primitive age.

A. Fermented alcoholic beverage
Fermentation is a process whereby yeast converts glucose in the wort
to ethyl alcohol and carbon dioxide gas (CO2) to give beer its alcohol
content and carbonation.

Fortified wine is a wine to which a distilled
spirit, usually brandy, has been added.
Varietals are made from a single grape variety, while blended wines are just that: a
blend of two or more varieties.
Wine blending is the process of combining
different wine varietals to create a composite
that's better than any of the wines separately
on their own. The wines blended might be
from different varieties, different regions,
different wood—and non-wood-aging, And
different vintages.
The main difference between ale and lager beer
Examples of Ale beer: ales are brewed from malted barley and come in
many different varieties are; Newcastle Brown Ale, Sierra Nevada Pale
Ale, Bass Ale, Red Tail Amber Ale, etc…
Examples of Lager beer: agers include many of America's famous beers,
including Budweiser, Busch Lite, Coors, Miller Genuine Draft, and PBR.
What is spirits?
Any alcoholic liquid that has been distilled as opposed to
fermented is referred to as a “spirit.”
Carbonated Beverage
• A carbonated drink is fizzy because it contains bubbles of carbon
dioxide or drinks that contain small bubbles of C02.
Non-Carbonated beverage
• Non-carbonated soft drinks are soft drinks without carbon
dioxide and sparkling taste and they include fruit punch, fruit
drinks, ice tea, coffee with sugar, and sport drinks. Or it is a soft
drinks do not undergo the carbonation process and do not have any
sparkling flavor.
