Problems in the meal plan:
The meal plan has several nutritional imbalances that could possibly
affect a 16 year old vegetarian athlete's health. The one major issue is the
lack of protein in the meal plans. Breakfast options like sweet muffins,
coffee with donuts contain almost no protein. Since protein is an
essential nutrient for athletes, in which they provide growth and
recovery. Some meals such as vegetarian fried rice, also lack a clear
protein source, so muscles can;t really develop.
Another problem is the high amount of sugary foods. Many meals include
high sugar and processed foods such as donuts and soda. While those
foods provide quicker energy, they can cause energy crashes, diabetes.
The plan also contains too much unhealthy fat, featuring deep fried spring
rolls with mayonnaise. While fats are good but only in a certain amount.
Ftas sources like nuts or fruits would be better choices.
Better options:
To improve the meal plan, swapping donuts with muffins. Replace the
fried foods with grilled tofu, lentils for proving a bigger source of protein
and iron. Choosing hummus, nuts or fruit with peanut butter instead of
sugary processed products. Drink simple water instead of soda.
