Appeal to APPUSMA friends

Dear friends,
Whole hearted welcome to all and I thank you for gracing your presence and
participating in the today’s meeting.
Prasanna Bharathi High School was estd. in the year 1993-94 and 32
Academic years have been successfully completed and 28 S.S.C batches were
sent. That is the brief history of this institution. Today I feel proud to invite all
the correspondent friends in to this small premises and have a nice time of 1½
or 2 hours with them. There is an important saying in Mahabharat i.e., “

సందర్భము, అలాగా APPUSMA meeting కొఱకు చాలా పెద్ద వాళ్లంతా
like Svc, Accord etc. etc………….
What is the importance of today’s meeting ? Sirs, we have a prestigious ,
large, wide spread, state level organisation with high objectives and no doubt
our organisation has acchieved several executive and legal victories at state
level, and district level creating it’s own exclusive memorable history. While we
feel very proud of our achievements we also have to necessarily look down to
some meagre and minor unpleasant events, which are degrading our self respect
causing severe mental agony and anguish while running our educational
institutions.
We are serving the educational needs of the society where from we too
except equal social values with respect, instead of which, we are gifted ill
treatment, disprespect etc and etc which should be curtailed instantaneously.
For this purpose the state level organisation should take up some reforms in the
disciplinary actions taken against the school managements by Education
department. For this purpose, I request the APPUSMA state legal advisor Mr.
K.S. Vasu garu to initiate some reforms. Also there are some other problems
faced by our members of Tirupati unit and I request our honourable members to
come forward and express their suggestions and opinions; in solving problems
from grass root level. The members need not hesitate in doing so because it is
only Appusma friendly meeting and it is not going to be publicised.
And I would like to a lenient step and request Sri K.S. Vasu garu to comfort
honourable members right now or later by giving possible solutions for the
following problems.
Sirs, we all know some unwanted problems the school managements are
facing.
1. The pressure of student unions for funds for conducting their meetings which
are no away relevant to put schools.
2. The demand of journalists for fee concessions.
3. The departmental disciplinary actions on the school management without
proper reasons.
4. Some parents of students are misbehaving to the staff and teachers. It is
better to follow some precautionary measures while taking the admissions of
such students by other schools.
The suggestions of respected State legal advisor, Rayalaseema zonal
President, the Tirupati district President and Tirupati unit President are very
much solicited.

Keeping discussions and resolutions private may preserve candidness and sensitivity, but it could also lead to challenges such as a lack of broader community engagement and awareness. Important stakeholders might remain uninformed about the issues and resolutions that could affect them. This lack of transparency might limit accountability and reduce trust in the organization’s ability to accurately and effectively manage challenges. Moreover, it could stymie the organization's ability to advocate for broader policy changes if the challenges and solutions remain insulated within the group .

Educational institutions can implement precautionary measures during the student admission process by incorporating behavior assessments and requiring recommendations from previous educators. Schools could host informational sessions for parents and students to set clear expectations and outline disciplinary policies. Screening for past behavior issues or requiring students and parents to commit to a code of conduct might further mitigate potential future issues related to student and parent misconduct .

APPUSMA has achieved several executive and legal victories at the state and district levels, creating a memorable history. However, the issues highlighted such as unwarranted demands by journalists, student union pressures, and departmental disciplinary actions indicate areas where their efforts may need bolstering. Additional focus could be on reinforcing the legislative and regulatory frameworks to protect schools from external pressures, and on providing mediation resources for parent-teacher conflicts. Efforts to improve public perception and respect for education might also benefit from enhanced communication strategies and public awareness campaigns .

Accountability and transparency are critical in addressing the challenges faced by educational institutions. Ensuring that disciplinary actions against school management are based on clear, justifiable reasons enhances accountability and protects institutions from arbitrary penalties. Transparency in the interactions between schools and external entities, such as student unions and the press, can prevent exploitation and demand pressures. By advocating for these principles, APPUSMA can help build trust, reduce conflicts, and enhance the overall educational environment .

APPUSMA's approach to handling issues at the grass-root level involves soliciting suggestions and opinions from its members, indicating a bottom-up perspective essential for localized problem-solving. However, improvements could be made by formalizing a structured feedback system that consistently gathers and analyzes data across regions. Establishing a monitoring committee to review outcomes could enhance accountability. Additionally, providing training and resources to build capacity at the grass-root level would strengthen institutions’ ability to self-manage and resolve issues effectively .

Involving a broader range of stakeholders at the APPUSMA meeting could lead to a more comprehensive understanding of the issues faced by educational institutions and generate diverse perspectives on potential solutions. Stakeholder engagement from different levels, such as state, zonal, district, and unit representatives, can provide insights into localized challenges and help tailor reforms that are effective across multiple contexts. Engaging stakeholders in dialogue fosters collaborative problem-solving and generates an array of strategies to address diverse concerns like those highlighted in the meeting .

APPUSMA's reforms have the potential to significantly alter the relationship between educational institutions and external entities such as the press and student unions. By addressing undue pressure from these entities, schools could see a reduction in non-essential financial and operational burdens, allowing them to focus on educational goals. If the reforms effectively institute clear boundaries and define fair interactions, the resulting relationship could be more balanced and respectful. Educational institutions may also gain more autonomy and respect in their dealings with these entities .

The issues discussed at the APPUSMA meeting highlight several significant challenges faced by educational institutions, such as pressure from student unions for funds, unwarranted demands from journalists for fee concessions, disciplinary actions by the education department without proper cause, and misconduct by parents. These challenges degrade the self-respect of educational institutions and cause mental agony to those running them. Addressing these issues is crucial as they undermine the educational environment and affect institutional respect and function .

Creating an exclusive and memorable history fosters a sense of pride and unity among APPUSMA members by highlighting its achievements and milestones. This collective pride can enhance member loyalty and motivate continued participation and advocacy. Recognizing past successes serves to inspire confidence in achieving future goals, and becomes a cultural touchstone that unites members under common aims and identities, contributing to sustained collective efforts .

The suggested reforms by the APPUSMA state legal advisor aim to address challenges by initiating changes in disciplinary actions taken against school managements by the Education department. These reforms seek to mitigate unjustified disciplinary measures that degrade the self-respect of institutions. Additionally, providing possible solutions to issues like demand pressures and misconduct is intended to alleviate the mental and operational stress on educational institutions .
