POINTED EDGE COLLAR
• Gather the ruffle to the length of the outside collar

• Allign the center seam of the ruffle with the center of your
collar lining piece and pin.
* The ruffle should be attached to the collar lining. It will be the
side that is facing down when worn.

STEP THREE
SEWING THE COLLAR

• Iron the interfacing to the wrong side of your main collar piece.
* This will be the collar piece that is facing up when worn. So if you have done any embroidery,
make sure that you iron the interfacing to the backside of the embroided fabric.

• Place the raw edges of the ties against the right side
of the collar main, 1/4” (0.5cm) from the inner edge
and baste.
* If making the button closure, skip to the next page.

• Place the two pieces of the collar, right sides together, and sew along the outside edge.
• Make sure the keep the ties safely out of the way.
• Use a heat erase pen to draw a line at the seam allowance to use as a guide for sewing for a cleaner curve.
• Clip around the curves and corners, be careful not to cut through the stitching.

• Sew along the inside curve, leaving a 2” gap in the center for turning,

• Turn right side out and press.
