Module 3: Learning Centers Assignment (75 Points)
Introduction
One of the most rewarding (and fun) activities for a teacher is going through the teacher
catalogs to find learning materials for your classroom.
Assignment Instructions
In this assignment, you will:
A. Using the tables below, list 6 Learning centers/Interest centers/Stations/ areas you would find in
an early learning classroom. (Research appropriate centers for the age group.) For example, art,
math, STEM, blocks…) Be sure you label each chart with a center name.
B. Include the age group from the following. (Infants, Toddlers, 3-4 year olds (Preschool),
Kindergarten, First Grade, Second Grade, or Third Grade) Remember what you have in a toddler
room is very different than a third grade classroom.
C. List 3 things children learn while participating in each of these centers.
D. Look through teacher/educational catalogs and:
a. Make a list of 10 items to use in the centers. (60 items total).
b. List the price for each item.
c. List the name of the catalog where you found it.
d. Include the total cost per-center.
e. Add up the total cost for all 6 centers.
Do not use Amazon, Walmart, Target, Oriental Trading, or Dollar Tree type stores
