I.
INSTRUMENT INSTALLATION
The HKR-GT must be installed on a stable surface free from vibrations. Ideally the device should be placed on a level table or
bench. Do not place the HKR-GT in direct sunlight or in the middle of an airflow (the sample temperature can be easily influenced
by surrounding conditions).

II. GETTING STARTED
Press the illuminated switch on the front of the device.
This lights up indicating that the device is powered on.
II.1 TEST PREPARATION
II.1.1 CONTAINER PLACEMENT
Put the container in place using the container holder.
In the case of the beakers supplied by RHEOCHRONOS with the device, they should be
blocked by force by pushing the beaker into the hole provided for this purpose.
To check that the beaker is well fixed, take the bottom of the beaker between the thumb
and the index finger and check that it does not move.
II.1.2 MOBILE FIXTURE
If you used the disposable Bakelite ball, screw one on the mobile using the entire thread.
1. Positioning the mobile, flat facing right.
2. Gently push the mobile upwards into the part provided for this purpose until it stops.
3. Fix the position of the mobile using the tightening screw.
II.2 HOME PAGE
After the machine and the computer are powered, double left click on the RheoTempus software shortcut icon.
After several seconds, the homepage appears.
If you want to start a test, left click on the TEST button
(See II.3).
If you want to process data, left click on the ANALYSIS
allows t process data (See II.4).
II.3 TEST
The left part of the window (frame A) contains the
indications of the product and the main parameters of
the test: A B
- The method used (drop-down menu).
C
- The type of mobile (drop-down menu).
- The type of container (drop-down menu).
- The frequency of solicitation (default value: 0,5
Hz).
Once these elements have been
completed, the button Start test becomes
active.
Left clickt on this button starts the motion of the mobile and the beginning of the test. The curves of apparent viscosity and
temperature are gradually being drawn.

GRAPHS:
The central part (frame B) brings together all the functions and indications concerning the test in progress. The upper part has
four buttons:
Save (inactive during a test):
Saves the test when it is completed.
Show raw signals (active during a test):
Opens a modal window (see below) to view the live load cell signal.
The graph on the left displays the force measurement of the cycle
in progress and the graph on the right, the curve of the previous
cycle and the filter applied to eliminate potential artefacts.
Analyse (inactive during a test):
Once the test is finished, this button sends the curves to the Analysis module.;
Stop (active during a test):
Stops the test and data acquisition. A first window opens to select the folder and the
name of the backup file. A second window offers you to apply the treatment.
Below these buttons, a graph displays live the curves of Apparent viscosity (in blue) and Sample temperature (in red) over time.
Finally, the lower part contains three cells displaying the instantaneous data of apparent viscosity, time and temperature.
II.4 ANALYSIS
The Open file button which allows you to load a test
file and the name of the sample.
The Information button to access the test data.
A
A scrolling menu allows to display both curves or only
one of them. If necessary, the curves can be filtered to
B C
eliminate outliers.
In the central part (frame B), four buttons are active:
Save: saves the test with the treatments and modifications applied;
Send: sends the file to the Multi analysis window;
Reset: deletes the modifications made.
Finally, the right part (frame C) displays the data calculated according to the treatment chosen. The Print button is used to print
the test report.
