Baby Turtle Pattern

MIKEY AND LEO

DONNIE
RAPH
Instructions
Materials

Fabric of your choice - I recommend minky or fleece

Fabric scissors
Thread
Pins
Safety eyes - i used 6mm
Needle
Optional- sewing machine
Polyfill
Optional- squeaker
Chalk or a pen to mark on your fabric

Let’s make a turtle!

1. Print and cut out the pattern of your chosen turtle! Lay it on your fabric and trace around
it with your chalk or pen. When cutting out the fabric, leave seam allowance, as the
pattern does not include it
2. For LEO MIKEY and DONNIE applique their details now. Add the shell designs and leo’s
face markings.
3. For RAPH sew the spikes now. Following the guidemarks on the shell pattern piece,
attach the spikes after you’ve turned them right side out. Sew up the darts and sew the
two shell halves together with spikes down the middle.
4. For LEO MIKEY and DONNIE sew the darts on the shell.
5. Sew the legs. Turn and stuff lightly. Baste to the shell top using placement markers.
6. Sew the tummy pieces together, leaving a space in the middle for turning.
7. Line up front and back seams of shell and tummy. Making sure the legs are tucked in,
sew around the shell and tummy to close up the body of the plush. Turn right side out
using tummy hole.
8. For DONNIE, sew along the bottom of the head, leaving the top open. Sew the triangle
forehead into the open space. For MIKEY RAPH and LEO sew along the top of the head
to the marker, leaving the chin space open. Sew the chin into the open space.
9. Add the safety eyes where marked.
10. Stuff the head and body.
11. Ladder stitch the head to the body and the tummy closed.
12. Give your turtle a hug!
